In 1883, the first sidewalks were laid in Orlando. They went from the depot on Church Street to Orange Avenue, and then on to Central Boulevard.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?'" Today, residents from across our community joined City employees for "A Day On, Not a Day Off" to act on the teachings of Dr. King by cleaning up our parks, planting trees, plants and more. #mlkday #loveorlando #KOB

Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the families of Master Sergeant Debra Clayton of the Orlando Police Department and Deputy Norm Lewis of the Orange County Sheriff's Office, Florida.
It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that this morning we lost Sergeant Debra Clayton in the line of duty. She heroically, fought for her life and unfortunately passed away at 7:40 a.m. January 9th 2017. Sergeant Clayton served the Orlando Police Department for over 17 years. We will...

Master Sgt. Debra Clayton, was a 17 year veteran who worked day shift patrol. She always had a smile on her face and gave a high five for every kid she came across. She will be missed beyond words.
