Today is Ambassador McDowell's last Longyi Friday at the Embassy. He says "I hope other offices adopt #longyifriday too. Not only is a longyi much more practical in this climate, but it's a reminder that we shouldn't abandon beautiful aspects of local culture in the rush to globalize".
Before the big day . . .
Every autumn, nature puts on a brilliant show of color in many parts of the Canada. The green leaves transform into bright yellows and vibrant reds and the falling leaves form a natural ‘red carpet’ on the sidewalks. Many travelers go to Canada to see the fall foliage, and to catch a glimpse of nature's splendor.
