He wanted to go to NSW for more chance, got told no. Gets dropped first match and bats in a stupid spot for someone of his talent. Gets told to make runs, which until recently he had been, but still gets criticism for not getting runs. I totally understand why he's frustrated. He's done everything he can and even now it's going to hard for him to make shield runs because he's playing in the short form international team. Guy wants to further his career and get called selfish for it.

They need to stop treating players like school kids who should toe the line or else! I like Maxwell but really don't like Wade much so I feel his pain.

I don't buy this notion that you can enforce a positive culture. Fining someone for not fitting the prescribed ethos isn't going to achieve anything, just make everyone feel a bit less comfortable with each other. Competitive sportsmen disagreeing with each other and not getting along like best buddies is normal. They're competitive and yeah, a bit arrogant and self centered. Sometimes that's ok and you can still put together a competitive unit. They don't all have to like each and agree on everything.

I think having won it, he didn't want to go through another season with Hamilton. What he did in that last race would've been hard to deal with next year.

Not cool but let's be honest he was caught up in the moment. A fine is probably sufficient not anything more which would be an overreaction
yesterday at 02:03
This is an absolute disgrace. If Melbourne City had any backbone they would strip him of the captaincy. If the FFA do anything but suspend and fine him - it will just go to prove the favouritism they have for Melbourne City.

Didn't come across as a dig at wade to me.. fair point standard batting order: batsmen, wicket keeper, bowlers. Maxwell obviously felt he was in the side to bat rather than bowl
yesterday at 04:08
Maxwell is right in what he says but not the right forum to get it off his chest. I am not a big fan of either player but the stats show Maxwell is a much better batsman. You can't really say Maxwell is selfish when his captain is quite clearly using his position selfishly to improve his chances of being selected for Australia - successfully as well.
