When new constables are sworn into ACT Policing, they take an oath to serve and protect our community. This oath underpins our mission to keep the peace and preserve the safety of the Canberra public.

Station Sergeant Rod Anderson has upheld this oath for 27 years and, to this day, it’s the reason he wears the badge.

Yesterday afternoon, police arrested an 18-year-old ‘L-Plater’ driver in Kambah after he recklessly drove a stolen car, performing burnouts and fishtailing along Crozier Circuit before losing control and colliding with a stone wall.

The man also pulled a large knife from his pocket and threatened a bystander who tried to speak to him.

He'll face court this morning.
