In Dunedin for meetings I spied this clever idea at Vogel St Kitchen Potato gratin stacks – one with grilled veg, salsa verde and avo smash and the other with grilled veg, ricotta and beetroot-cured salmon. So good!
Starting the week with a tray of roasted beets (red and yellow) caramelised with olive oil, honey and a little pomegranate molasses, salt and pepper. The pumpkin is drizzled with olive oil, brown sugar, salt and pepper. They take about 40 minutes to cook and will keep for 4 or 5 days in the fridge – perfect to toss into bowls with grains and greens, maybe some feta and nuts, and a tangy... View details ⇨
Last orders folks! Orders from my website for delivery to Australia before Christmas need to be in our hot little hands by Monday so we can get them wrapped and down to the NZ Post office in time for their cut-off. Here's a tip – if you live in Aus and would like to wake up to a copy of my summer annual under the Christmas tree, share this with your friends ;)
My moss rose hedge doing its annual thing. It's over 20 years old – a very old-fashioned, super prickly rose that is now hard to find. Such a nice memory of buying the plants with my mother all those years ago when we were starting this garden...
#throwbackthursday This post from Christelle reminded me how handy my One-Pot Chocolate and Raspberry Cupcakes are – you can make one batch then keep the rest in the fridge for fresh cupcakes later in the week! Who's tried them? If you haven't, the recipe's on my website [ Bit.ly Link ]

It's choc o'clock! If that mid-afternoon energy slump has hit or you feel like you're going to need chocolate to get you through the week the Peanut Crunch Slice from my new summer annual comes to the rescue! It's perfect for lunchboxes, shared morning teas and homemade gifts, and I've just shared it on my website. Lucky you! #recipeoftheweek
Last call for orders from my website shop in time for international delivery (excluding NZ and Australia) before Christmas! Sorry to put the pressure on but if my elves don't get them in the post within 24 hours we'll miss NZ Post's cut-off date – and we'd hate anyone to be disappointed :) Here's the link [ Annabel-langbein.com Link ]
A sink full of glorious garden pickings this morning from my Wanaka garden. So wonderful to be home again at this time of year. That said, it's freezing with low snow on the hills last night. At least the peonies don't mind!
I've signed a stack of my new annual Celebrate Summer, and now they're all wrapped up ready for a new home!! Perfect to send to family and friends overseas. Order cut-off dates for Christmas delivery are: Worldwide 28 November, Australia 5 December, (NZ 18 December). [ Annabel-langbein.com Link ]
