Another sad farewell today, this time for an icon of our industry, Gray Davis Boone.The founder of Antiques Quarterly in 1967, and a life-long ambassador of the appreciation of antiques, Ms. Boone passed on Thursday, May 18. She was 78.

Although we are a bit delayed, we bid farewell to actor Powers Boothe, best known for portraying villains in Westerns, according to Scoop. Mr. Boothe died May 14 reportedly of natural causes. He was 68.

Moment In History: It was on this day (May 20) in 1873, that Levi Strauss and Jacob W. Davis are given a patent to create work pants that feature metal rivets as reinforcements, reports HISTORY. Little did they know this would lead to the development of one of the most popular items in the everyday wardrobe: blue jeans.
