Three ASUN track and field squads got their indoor season started this previous weekend. NJIT performed in two events over three days, while USC Upstate got things started at the UNCG Early Bird in Winston-Salem, N.C. and Lipscomb went across town for the Vanderbilt Opener.
After taking hold of the 2016 ASUN Volleyball Conference Championship earlier this year, Lipscomb was the lone representative of its conference in this season's NCAA Volleyball Championship. Sherranda Reddick broke Jacksonville's single-game scoring record with 33 points on Friday afternoon to lift the Dolphins to victory, while Stetson used a second half surge to get a win at the FIU Thanksgiving tournament.
On Tuesday night, USC Upstate rallied from an 11-point deficit late in the second half to defeat Charlotte in overtime on the road, while Kennesaw State's Kendrick Ray dropped a career-high 33 points in a home victory. North Florida evened its record at 2-2 as the Ospreys tallied 112 points.
