I think their first problem was building it inside... They clearly had to build the cockpit area a certain size, but then the legs are just way too small and not proportionate to the rest of the chassis. It honestly looks like if 2 of the mechs from pacific rim were brother and sister and they had a baby together...
01/22/2017 at 01:04
that is one disportionate mech ever, how are those legs going to support the chassis untethered but then it is photoshopped, where's the rest of his legs in the cockpit

Watching my DVD today. Better to be in a fantasy world than the real one, where a skxawng is being sworn in as president.

This mineral is so valuable to humans that they travel trillions of miles at great expense and risk to mine it on Pandora. What is it called?

Unobtanium....though I wish the name wasn't so freaking cheesy. Pandorium would have been better.
01/18/2017 at 19:31
"Unobtainium (n.) a highly desirable material that is hypothetical, scientifically impossible, extremely rare, costly, or fictional, or has some of these properties in combination." It was perfectly named for the movie!
01/18/2017 at 22:10
"Unobtainium", though like the movie 'The Core', I'm going to assume it has a true scientific name with like 16 syllables, so unobtainium is just an easier to pronounce slang term.

Saw this last year and it was amazing as with all their other shows. Those who found it disappointing failed to recognize the art, talent and pure imagination of the show. All of their performances tell a story and if you can't grasp or follow it, perhaps Cirque is a little above your head.

Oh, I don't know about it being "Can't miss". I've managed to do a pretty good job of missing it so far. In fact, I think I'll wait for the next movie to come out.

Quick quiz: What type of technology does a link unit like this use to connect a human with its Na'vi avatar?

What type of technology can help Avatar 2 come out faster?
I honestly don't know the answer, I don't recall them saying in the movie, all I remember is "The concept is that every driver is matched to his own avatar, so that they're nervous systems are in tune"
Robin Lynn Fite
Wasn't it neuro science? The neurological systems of the human and avatar bodies had to match to make the link possible, which is why Jake got offered the gig: because his identical twin brother died before he had a chance to complete the mission he started, and Jake was a neurological match to his brother's avatar.
(At least this is how I understand it. Feel free to contribute your thoughts.)

Four men in a prison cell - a rapist, a murderer, a psycho and a gay person.
The rapist says,"If there was a cat in here I'd f*ck it!!"
The murderer says, "Ya! Once your done with it, I'd torture it to death!!"
The psycho says,"Once it's dead I would f*ck it till I die!"
The gay person in the corner very softly says.... "Meeoow."
My sentiments exactly!!! When is the next Avatar movie coming out?
That's not really the most insightful quote from the movie...

I hope you make it accessible for people who are handicap like Jake Sully (from the movie Avatar) and others who really can't move joints and legs who are trapped in wheel chairs or worse. Remember Jake Sully and others in real life have there minds to work and function but unable to get around.

Sad, albeit I tend to belive that eventually we will find other things to explain the anomalies that the terms "dark energy" and "dark matter" were invented to explain. Time will tell.
Not to say, "Good, maybe now science can move on from 'Dark Everything' to something that actually reflects observable reality." But, pretty much that... It's sad that someone some people respected died. not knocking her "Lady Scientist cred." But maybe some of the bad ideas (vis a vis, Dark Matter) can die with her... Sadly, the "inertia of belief" seems to keep bad ideas afloat long after they've ceased to be useful.
She died in December, on Christmas Day.

Avatar will have another 4 movies within next 5 years that is if Spielberg can live up to his biggest challenge in the whole cinematography.

Oof! Tethers have gone very wrong in the past. Not sure if assisting even 100 objects to earlier decay is worth the potential of creating a new debris cloud.
Problem, Velocity and Mass. With every impact against the cable, the velocity will be altered, and with finite fuel, this will only work for so long.
A cable... space junk tim says to space junk steven: ey space junk steve howsit going, ye heard of that new cable the konichiwas put into space ? SJ steve to SJ tim: wazzup ma G top dawg, roger i seen that cable few hours ago.. was heading to no where in particular with the guys when the bros stuck behind with the konichiwable and they dont look like theyre going anywhere Tim.. chinese back on earth: our space shoelace works!

Whats amazing in Jemes cameron's avatar that usually in all movies , its the ufo who comes to invade earth , while his avatar humans go to pandora to invade it , showing humans that are more advanced , than blue creatures , amazing and creative idea that puts him out of the usual crawd !! Showing us another planet that life exists in it , and experiencing that is awesome !!
I have watched this movie once or twice while waiting for the sequels :p

I have the 3 disc DVD set with the 3 versions :
- original theater release,
- extended theater re-release
- extented director's cut.
On the "bonus" disc, there are "cut" scenes in various level of production. Some are ready to edit, while others are only moption capture. I"d like to see Avatar with ALL these scenes finished. the movie would probably last 4 hours.
They had the coolest animals in that movie. Loved it.

Any idea what date avatar land is going to open at Disney World?
Only thing I can find is 2017, that's kind of vague considering there's a 12 month spread.
If you release a movie I might think about it.. MAYBE.. so far all you do is constantly push back the ETA for the release dates..

The tech was already there. They should have filmed with what they had available and did all this advancement on the third one. If this goes wrong due to how long it's taken for the first sequel then that's a big loss for all this R&D. There's motion capture jumpsuits now with no cameras necessary, there's 8K resolution digital cinema cameras, 4K resolution video facial motion capture, so what else could there be?
As much as I love avatar I think they shouldn't do sequels because I read back in 2011 that we would get the second film by Christmas of 2014 and here we are 2017 and still nothing so I'm officially off the hype train
Already know this, imdb says there Will be 3 or 4 movies still to come, first espacted in 2018 and than every 2 years a new movie,
Says 5th 2023-12

I'm playing this while listening to a pretty groovy techno track. Imagine the effect it has. :D :D Also, it's in total sync with the audio. :D
You guys should have used my GIF of this. It's much smoother. Or do a loop of the second view from this scene.
Seeing this made my headache worse. I'll stick to coffee

Simply a conjuration to make he Bible seem false. We never got through the 'Firmament' the first time we trued, but folks really will believe anything if they hear if often enough. :(
Where in the bible does the bible says that world is flat, maybe in your brain is flat lining which the term used would brain dead. I think you better read the old testament book of JOB, it's right after Esther and in that book it talks about planets as spheres or in Layman terms circles and how the planets circle the sun. So if you want to bring the bible into this than make sure you know what you are talking about, and not some pagan doctrine of the Roman Catholic dogma!

I enjoyed the movie and I love Sigourney Weaver, but she would've made a more believable scientist if someone had taught her how to properly use a pipette!
Why did you block The I Love Sigourney Weaver Fan Page? We're just her biggest fans who have met her, celebrate her and her films! We'll even be at Disney's Animal Kingdom when #Pandora opens there! (Can you UNblock please?) =)
Grace: "How much lab _____ do you have?"

I can remember...I love Avatar.
