Another event, another batch of great dogs and sweet families. This day was fairly low key with nine dogs spay/neutered on the Nut Truck. After a super busy event in February, we relished the calm. Many thanks to Earth Rated for sponsoring this event, and next month's too!

The first step to helping a fearful dog is learning to read their body language, respecting their need for safe space and slowly, gently earning their trust. Addie came to our Owner Support event with her finders yesterday at the recommendation of her veterinarian (thank you Noble Veterinary Clinic). Her helpers took her in from the streets in December and recognized right away that she'd do...

Lucky Leprechauns!

We're doing a jig because this Sunday's Nut Truck event in Oakland is being sponsored by the dog lovers of Earth Rated pet supply company. In addition to the usual goodies (spay/neuter, vaccines, etc) every family who attends will go home with some really cool gifts like these yummy blankets. Thank you Earth Rated!

While supplies last. Need some help for your dog?...

Part Two of finding a Pet Friendly Home:

In addition to offering a pet resume (yesterday's post), remember to fine-tune your APPROACH so you can impress. Appearing desperate, disorganized or defensive can be off-putting. Instead, treat this as you would a job search and your demeanor will help you stand out from all the other applicants who want the same apartment.

(Landlords, thanks for...

This is curious: Landlords we survey tell us that very few dog owners supply 'pet resumés' when they apply for pet friendly rentals. With housing so limited, what are your thoughts on why so many people skip this helpful practice?

Thanks for letting us pick your brain!

Poke, poke, poke. HEY! You're overstaying your welcome!

Usually it's Spock who does the razzing around here, but today the furry duo decided to tag team and pester their teenage pal, perhaps to remind him that they expect him to puh-leeze get adopted soon since other dogs might like to have his spot in the Rescue Barn. Think he got the message?

Success! Pirata came to one of our events for a neuter and microchip. Last week, thanks to a Good Sam and a vet clinic, that microchip did its job.

"My neighborhood is going under some road constructions and one of the employees left a little gap on the front yard and Pirata escaped. Luckily a Good Samaritan found Pirata and took him to the Discovery Bay Veterinarian Clinic to scan the...

We're BACK in OAKLAND this Sunday for Nut Truck work. All dogs welcome. Blocky dogs who've registered get first dibs for spay/neuter, followed by blocky dogs who didn't, followed by small dogs who bring a blocky friend with them for a fix, followed by 'other' dogs as time/resources allow. Ya feel me?

Register at this link or contact@badrap.org for general questions.

Lolo helped raise young Zelda from a grabby-faced babe to a nicely mannered young lady. On their last afternoon together, Lolo gave her homebound project pup once last lesson: How to enjoy a good game of tug on the spring pole. We'll miss seeing them together.

The Barn needed a party dog to help Spock burn steam while he waits for a new home. Enter: SCAMP (left). She's all that & more.

Rescue/transferred from Hayward Animal Services yesterday in honor of Letti de Little's birthday - because Letti sure loves herself some spunk in her pit bulls.
