This #ThankYouThursday, we'd like to thank everyone who joined us last weekend for our first Bloodwise Balloon Walk in the beautiful city of York. 70 walkers turned out to take on a 5k walk through the city centre and along the River Ouse carrying brightly coloured balloons to represent their support for Bloodwise. Over £2,200 has been raised so far with more to come!

Emma’s Mum was diagnosed with Leukaemia in 2008, fighting the disease for over a year before sadly passing away at just 46. Emma has since ran, walked and jogged over 300 miles in a series of events to raise money for Bloodwise and in honour of her mum.

This April, Emma has signed up to run the London Supernova Run to help us beat blood cancer and support families like her's.

When Claire Richardson was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in May 2016 with an almost 2 year old son at the age of just 26 life was put on hold.

Last week, Dale Telling ran the Bath half marathon for his niece Amber who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in 1997 aged 3. The experience was significant for Amber as she is now an oncology nurse caring for cancer patients at Bristol Children’s Hospital.
