Calling all Bloodwise volunteers! We have been invited by The Girls Musical to hold collections at their wonderful performances. The show is running every day (except Sundays) from 28 January until 22 April at the Phoenix Theatre, London.
If you can give a couple of hours at one (or more!) of these performances, please send us an email to southeast@bloodwise.org.uk with your preferred dates.

An international collaboration led by clinical researchers at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, which was partly funded by Bloodwise, shows how combining detailed information about each patient’s blood cancer and their response to treatment could help doctors make better choices for all their patients in the future.

Did you know that clinical trials provide conventional treatment as a minimum or conventional treatments together with new and innovative trial treatments?

We are working with the NHS and YourTreatmentChoices.com to empower patients to find out more about possible suitable clinical trials using a new fast track access programme.

On Thursday at 1pm Bloodwise Ambassador George Norton will be joining us to talk about his experiences with blood cancer.

George was first diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukeamia in 2005 and spent 5 years leukaemia free after initial treatment before relapsing in 2013. He's now back in remission after a s tem cell transplant in 2014.

Emma Harrison knew something wasn't right with her son Ollie when she noticed his testicle was swollen while he was playing in the bath.

Blood tests revealed Ollie had acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and he was rushed off to the Royal Marsden in Sutton by flashing ambulance. He was just three and a half at the time.

Thankfully Ollie's treatment was successful and he's now back at school....

We’d like to say a big thank you to Dr Michael and Margaret McGregor for all their fundraising efforts. Their annual coffee morning is regularly attended by around 400 people, with the 2016 event raising over £3,000.

Thanks to the support from you, Professor James Neil from The University of Glasgow has been finding out how a family of genes called RUNX can lead to blood cancer.
Now a new study shows that we may be able to reverse resistance to commonly used drugs in blood cancer treatment by blocking the activity of RUNX genes. Find out more here: [ Bit.ly Link ]

"This year we knew we could enjoy Christmas free of worry. It was really lovely.”
Andrew, the star of our winter campaign, was finally able to spend Christmas with his family after beating acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

Brett Grist is doing really well as he continues his recovery from AML and had double cause for celebration really after a positive check-up and finding what might be a long term solution to his post transplant pain and fatigue.
