When thieves stole £375 cash from a 71-year-old woman on a Metro train in Sunderland, she was understandably very upset.

She had been saving the money to buy Christmas presents for her family but when she left her bag on the Metro, opportunist thieves rifled through it and took the money.

The victim, who is from Sunderland, was reunited with her bag (pictured) by Metro staff but the money...

A scheme, which aims to keep vulnerable people safe and save lives on the railway in the West Midlands, is being launched on what is dubbed by many as the most depressing day of the year.

#BlueMonday is often circled as the unhappiest date on the calendar, when people are left facing dark mornings, post-Christmas debts and a month of restraint after over indulging during the festive period....

Setting fire to a train is stupid. And dangerous. But definitely stupid.

We want to speak to these two in relation to an arson onboard a train between Colchester North and Witham in Essex.

On 13 December, two men set fire to a pile of paper, left it on a seat and ran off the train.

A nearby passenger tried to stamp it out but it took a staff member and a fire extinguisher to stop the...

This is one way to get rid of an unwanted Christmas present… unfortunately it’s a dangerous and stupid one.

A child’s scooter was thrown at a train near Airdrie yesterday evening – we think from the Gartlea Road over bridge.

It caused widespread disruption to the network whilst officers retrieved the scooter from the top of the train it had landed on.

Luckily no one was hurt, but it was...

Snakes on a plane? Try scorpions on a train ????

Our officers were called to a train travelling between Kings Cross and Edinburgh on Sunday, to reports that a scorpion had escaped from a passenger's bag.

The scorpion was quickly caught, put in a box and officers transported her to a pet refuge in Peterborough...where we hear she has now given birth.
