Standing in front of a moving train to try and save a woman’s life is an extreme example of our officers’ commitment to helping vulnerable people on the railway... and not one we’d ever advise people to attempt.

But that’s exactly what PC Matt Godsall did when he went on the tracks to help a woman in crisis at Kings Norton railway station, on the outskirts of #Birmingham, on 27 July 2016.

"You’re lucky it wasn’t an uppercut, I’m from the Ends”.

The ludicrous words this woman chanted after punching and spitting at a member of staff in Euston station.

Luckily, our officers were not far off and quickly arrested her and took her to custody. Last week, she was handed a 26 week prison sentence for her nonsensical and violent racist abuse.

We will never stand for racial abuse and...

Did you know that 175 years ago today, Queen Victoria became the first British monarch to travel by rail?

The 23-year-old queen travelled from Slough to London on 13 June 1842 and proclaimed the journey as "delightful and quick", despite her nerves at the speed.

Today, we're proud to help police the Royal Train as it journeys around the more than twice the speed of that original...

Sgt Nathan Watson and his colleague PC Gavin Valydon were out on patrol in Mitcham last week, when they spotted Joe the Yorkshire Terrier running across the road.

Leaping into action (and overcoming a slight fear of dogs!), they gave chase and managed to retrieve him before the little fella came to any harm.

The pair carried out some house...
