Update on our boy Shea 1/21:
Shea is still hospitalized at our vet.
We started Shea on prednisone to help keep his blood count up so he won't need another transfusion. We are still awaiting test results. We have sent out tests for multiple auto immune diseases. Shea is home for the night!!
*urgent update on Shea*
This morning Shea has crashed again, he is very very ill. His blood cell count has dropped back down to a dangerous level of anemia, and he is having another blood transfusion. We are trying to find the cause and doing multiple other tests. We are testing for an autoimmune disease, and hoping that it is treatable as his body is basically...

He will be spending one more night hospitalized to monitor him to make sure he does not have a relapse. He is being weaned off of IV fluid's and we are hoping for the best! Thank you to...

Update!! In good news, Shea's blood count went up to 24! Up 12 from this morning. Still a bit below normal, but it's a huge improvement from this morning. We will know in the morning if his body has fully accepted the transfusion, but for now he is stable and has color back in his gums and nose!! Look at the before and after! Thank you all for your positive thoughts and prayers. Shea Will...

*URGENT*! Please help our 2 month old puppy, Shea. He is currently having a blood transfusion!
We rescued Shea on Saturday and he was a bit lethargic with pale gums so we went to our vet. After X-rays, blood work, and a parvo test it seemed he was his dehydrated and needed fluids and anti- nausea medication. He was playful and felt better yesterday, and around 1 AM he started to vomit and have...

With almost 20 dogs in our rescue (and 6 being puppies) veterinary care can be expensive. When we take in puppies, they very rarely have any vetting, and our current 6 pups received none prior to coming into our care. Basic vetting (including spay/neuter, shots, de-worming, micro-chipping, exams, and tons of food) costs around $300+, and that is if none of them need any extra vetting. Shea,...

Please understand that they just came into rescue, will be getting vaccinations, micro chips and spay/neuter - so they will be ready for adoption in a few weeks. Please be patient - we have been swamped with emails and messages about them and are trying to respond to everyone (we are volunteers and...
