A big thank you to everyone who came out for #CPCIceFest!
By yesterday evening, the snowstorm that had cloaked New York City earlier in the day had finally subsided, resulting in 9 inches of snow covering the Park. Luckily, we caught the beautiful result of the storm on camera just before the sun went down.
In case you missed it, it’s snowing in New York City and Central Park is covered in a blanket of white. Everyone stay safe and warm!
Roses are red, violets are blue, Central Park is for lovers… and the romance is far from new! Since the Park first opened, the spirit of love has been coursing through its 843 acres. On this day, 53 years ago, the Beatles stepped off the plane at JFK Airport and ignited a wave of “Beatlemania” in the United States. Beatlemania is still alive and well in Central Park at Strawberry Fields, a tribute to John Lennon, designed in collaboration with Lennon’s wife, Yoko Ono.

On February 11, a crowd of thousands will gather at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park to witness a shimmering spectacle: the ice-carving artists of Okamoto Studio will transform more than 6,000 pounds of ice into a replica of the Park’s beloved Alice in Wonderland statue.

Hallett Nature Sanctuary open hours are back! Come visit Central Park’s most secluded woodland Monday, Wednesday, or Friday 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. During these limited hours, visitors can explore the normally-closed Hallett at their own pace along the rustic trail. bit.ly/1hP64FE
