The doctors and nurses at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital just love Simnikiwe and his bubbly personality and have been taking such good care of him. Meet Shavonne :-) She is a training nurse who is currently in her third year at the University of Western Cape. She absolutely loves working at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital and finds it so rewarding to help the little ones. A big shout out goes to all the wonderful nurses for their dedication and extra love they put into their jobs.
Thaakirah was so full of smiles on her first day of school yesterday. This precious little girl has fought against all odds, but thanks to the dedication of her parents and the staff at the Red Cross Children's Hospital she's reached this amazing milestone. Today it's back to school for many kids, but DID YOU KNOW the Red Cross Children’s Hospital has its very own Primary school? Patients like Samora have the opportunity to do their school work and maintain good grades from their hospital beds or in the classroom based at the Hospital.

Tesniqa is only two years old but already loves posing for the camera! She keeps her mom and dad very busy with her inquisitive nature. Unfortunately she has been struggling with her breathing, but she is in the very best hands and the nurses and doctors at Red Cross Children's Hospital are taking very good care of her.
Today Lifu turns 2! He is a loving and very energetic little boy who loves playing with all the other patients in the Oncology Ward at Red Cross Children's Hospital. He was recently diagnosed with a liver tumour and is undergoing treatment. Let’s send all our love and birthday wishes to Little Lifu!

Bubbly three-year-old Aella has experienced a lifetime of suffering with severe pain throughout her body. She has visited various doctors and hospitals in the United Arab Emirates and Port Elizabeth since birth, which only lead to her being misdiagnosed.

Today we were privileged to meet the Pledge-A-Kay group who raised over R124 000! They competed in the Cape Town Ultra Trail marathon, running distances of 35km, 65km and 100km and climbs totalling to 4200m, all to raise funds for life-saving equipment in the new ICU at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital!

Meet 13-year-old Rheed. He underwent a hip replacement after the Doctors at Red Cross Children’s Hospital diagnosed him with bone cancer and a tumour on his hip. Although he has been going for chemotherapy, he has remained extremely strong and kept a positive attitude. His example has been a true inspiration to those around him.
