It has been great to have our first set of future Coxswains in this week as they undertake the twelve day intensive Clipper Race Coxswain Certificate.

We wish them all the best for a successful course completion as they near the half way mark!

Greg Schey, a 27 year old doctor from Swansea, Wales, had to learn to walk again after brain surgery at age six. It has in no way held this adventurer back though, with Greg preparing to fulfil a life-long dream to sail around the world with the Clipper 2017-18 Race.

Sir Robin is back in Mumbai, the birthplace of Suhaili, with his dear friends Abhilash Tomy (the first Indian to sail solo non-stop around the world) and Dilip Donde (who was the first Indian to sail around the world).

The total volume of paint used is 420 litres – the equivalent of approximately six baths, or nearly 1300 cans of Coke!

WATCH: Deaf Clipper 2015-16 Race circumnavigating crew member Gavin Reid on BBC TWO tomorrow at 8am, as he tells the See Hear programme about his daring rescue of a non Clipper Race vessel in Australia.

Gavin recently won the 2016 YJA Yachtsman of the Year Award in recognition of his extraordinary bravery.
We are very proud to announce Deputy Race Director and Clipper 2015-16 Race Derry~Londonderry~Doire skipper Daniel Smith won the Performance of the Year at the RYA Scotland Awards in Glasgow on the weekend. Congratulations Daniel!
