Though Cook has been their mentally strongest test player and a legend, but my goodness! he's so boring and defensive both as batsman and captain. Uses negative stratergies so often, doesn't go for a chase, makes his bowlers bowl negative line, wastes time and still his team lost. He needs to be a little aggressive and make the next two games much more exciting.
English side looks more settle than Australian. Time to think a lot for Australian cricket to get back Ashes. However, this would be last Ashes for Cook which is good. He had an incredible time in test match. Time to go after Ashes !

Nz don't have the ability to score a run over 280 and they chose to field after winning the toss . Back your strength guys maybe try defending 280 with attacking fields n not worry about DL method .

Bret lee was way quicker than Starc, but he was a gentleman too, and then after what happened to one of their own cricketer,... Starc should learn how to be nice in such situations....

Let me guess, somehow Australia is involved?
I wonder what Kohli thinks of the situation, probably wants all of the Australian team executed? #IndianLogic
today at 09:31
What an idiot. Doesn't he get it ? It's not shining the ball that is the problem. It's using a foreign substance that is the problem. It's irrelevant who else does it or how long it's been going on. It's in the rules, he was caught doing it, he is guilty. Move on.
And if people don't like the rule, get it changed. Until then, guilty as charged.
So he really has no defence aside from 'But the other guys did it'. I can see his appeal being thrown out in a matter of seconds. He's not denying even doing it, just that he's not the only one. Guilty as charged and probably suspended for wasting the ICCs time

He's shut us up for one day. Let's hope he keeps the form up. Certainly doing better than Matthew Wade.

Glenn Maxwell is the new Roger Harper 'super sub'.
Would the Vics have found room for him though? Another example of short form cricket completely stuffing up some very talented cricketers.
You win the toss and bowl and start with two slips to Trent Boult who can swing it away from Warner where he had trouble with SA. What do you know he nicks it to a regulation 3rd and should've been gone for 0. Game over from there.
Would think this could be finchs last series. Such a good player for a long time.but with an average of 35 now surely other players are more deserving

They pretty much need to outbat Australia to win, which means they need probably Kane Williamson and Guptil to both fire and either make 350 or chase down 350.

Wasn't manuka an absolute road in the india game last year.

in South Africa the national team is playing one of the domestic teams, and they're all loving it.
I would be loving it too, do a 3 match t20 series, Aus vs the rest.
Why the love for Boland? The guy just isn't good enough for the next step.

Maxwell wouldn't be happy with this, you've got him batting below the keeper

Why wasn't Khawaja included to the ODI squad for the ongoing series against New Zealand? In fact, Khawaja failed only twice in this year in ODI matches.
Khawaja should be extremely intelligent to continue this rhythm in next series against Pakistan either because he is the only batsman who can be trusted of the Australian team at the moment.
Why isnt he in the odi side. With the maxwell logic, Ive never seen finch score centuries in the past two years.
Surely this mans time has come.Hopefully Sean Marsh is history. This guy is peaking and could possibly be in all 3 formats of the game. Please selectors give this guy a fair go

If New Zealand hope to omit Mat Henry, they should give up that idea from their mind.
In fact, New Zealand is a strong team. If Taylor didn't fumble the opportunity of Virat Kohli, New Zealand should have had the ODI series victory at India.
So they have to utilise the every single moment. Guptil can't say that fumbles helped to Smith's brilliant ton because Guptil also made a ton thanks to the fumbles were done by Australia.
Yeah loosing to this australian side is a shame! Australian odi team without maxwell and faulkner is a joke!
Looking out of my office window towards manuka and I'll say that there's no chance of a game today.
