Ed Cowan, the leading run scorer in Sheffield Shield cricket this season, will return for Sydney University during the McDonald's NSW Premier Cricket Semi-Final weekend.
The first Semi-Final pits Minor Premiers Sydney University against Parramatta at Sydney University Oval.
The second Semi-Final will see second-placed Gordon meets third-placed Bankstown.

To celebrate a record 18th Women’s National Cricket League title, the Lendlease Breakers were special guests at a reception held in their honour by patron Mrs Linda Hurley and His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, at Government House on Tuesday.
Gordon, Sydney University, Parramatta and Bankstown are Semi-Finalists in the McDonald's NSW Premier Cricket competition after inclement weather prevented any play in two of the three finals last weekend.

After a courageous chase the NSW Blues came within 7 runs of qualifying for the Sheffield Shield final, narrowly losing to Western Australia in Perth.

The courageous NSW Blues have missed the Sheffield Final by just 7 runs, being bowled out for 396 needing 403 for a last gasp victory v WA. Peter Nevill was last man out for 63 with Dan Hughes scoring 110 and evergreen Ed Cowan 80. WA off-spinner Ashton Turner took 6-111. South Australia will now meet top team Victoria in the final, to be played at Alice Springs.
TEA 3-256 with a session to play and the Blues needing another 146 to make the Sheffield Shield final! Henriques 22 Patterson 30 Dan Hughes scored 110 and Ed Cowan 80
LUNCH with NSW Blues 1-134 needing another 269 to make the Sheffield Shield final against Victoria in Alice Springs. Ed Cowan continues his fantastic season with 70, giving him 949 Shield runs this season, by far the most in the competition, Dan Hughes reaches 50 for the second time in the match against WA with 55.
The NSW Blues need a strong batting performance to be sure of a place in the Sheffield Shield final.

The second-placed Blues resume today at 1-6 needing another 397 runs on the last day of the match in Perth to join Victoria in the final at Alice Springs.

NSW rising stars Rachel Trenaman, Mikayla Hinkley, Lauren Smith and Belinda Vakarewa, have been included in the 13-player Commonwealth Bank Shooting Stars squad.
