Yesterday in 2006, as the Carnival crowds danced on the streets of Rio de Janeiro, four armed robbers walked into the Museu Chacara Do Céu and walked off with $50 million in stolen art (pieces by Picasso, Monet, Matisse, and Dali). To this day, the works are still missing and the crime remains one of the FBI's top ten unsolved art heists of all time.

Today in 1923, archaeologist Howard Carter pried open the entrance to King Tutankhamen's sepulchral chamber in Thebes, Egypt. It had been sealed since 1350 B.C. and lost to time.

I consider myself an avid golfer, but I can't hold a candle to astronaut Alan Shepard, who took a few swings while walking the surface of the moon in 1971.
