Avila should be working the phones to fix this abomination of a bull pen. Thanks in advance for passing this along to him.

It appears there are exceptions to Trump's "Hire American" executive order. Mostly in the entertainment industry: film, theater, professional sports, music, etcetera.
Especially in Major League Baseball. In that sport the billionaire owners can hire as many foreigners as they want. How come?
04/24/2017 at 21:43
These boys will make us proud and win at least half these games probably more even without 4 of our regulars. Hopefully 3 or 4 of them will be back by the Cleveland series. GO TIGERS! Winning it all in 2017! I BELIEVE!!!

Just checking to see if Sanchez was released yet....

Happy birthday. 🎂 We are lucky to know your cousin in Vero Beach, FL, and she speaks highly of you, both on and off the field.

Had the pleasure watching him with Cleveland. Class. Probably the best double play combo with Roberto...behind Trammel and Whitaker
04/24/2017 at 22:45
I like Omar....a good base coach...and a good guy.....our other base coach ..Clark...may be the worst 3rd base coach ever....but glad we have Omars knowledge and professionalism to help the younger guys

"Baseball can be a tough life, especially for a Minor Leaguer who doesn't get significant time in the big leagues," manager Brad Ausmus said. "When they do get that opportunity or that taste, I think everyone kind of pulls for them."

This may be a jump start and a wake up call to some of the other players. A little competition never hurts. Nice to see the contributions from the new faces. Go Tigers!!!
04/24/2017 at 18:40
Adduci was pretty impressive. Sure was nice to watch the Tigers, even with a buncha scrubs, playin so well. All I really wanna know is ...what does Sanchez have on someone to still be a Tiger? That boy has GOT to have some incriminating pictures on SOMEBODY or something right?! lol
04/24/2017 at 17:49
Tigers for life?? Find a permanent place?? Retire the oldies?? How about a little perspective here folks? It was ONE GAME. There is a reason that Adduci is a 32 year old minor leaguer, and Hicks has been waived by a couple of teams. I hope they both do well, but let's not measure them for their busts at Cooperstown just yet. I'll bet if either one goes 0 for 6 over the next couple of games, the same people will be calling for their heads.

John Hicks finished with three hits yesterday, including his first-career home run.

Typical arm chair managers.......one game and you all are getting rid of the future HOF veterans for players who have played one game!!!!! How smart is that? Not smart, just typical of some on this site.
04/24/2017 at 16:44
Nice to see some of these new faces stepping up and contributing while the disabled players are healing. Maybe this will light a fire under some of these starters rear ends.

I love it when they call up players who produce IMMEDIATELY!! Good job. Hope it continues while he's filling in for Miggy. :D
We've now homered in 17 of our first 18 games. This one was courtesy of Alex Avila.

And remember the game a few days ago where the game home run streak stopped? Castellanos hit his first Triple that JUST missed being a homer........
04/24/2017 at 00:20
Alex has Lloyd back in the batting cage again...I said it when they got McClendon back...Miggy had the triple crown AA had a silver slugger year...
04/24/2017 at 00:26
So he hits 3 home runs and he's now "Mr clutch" and "better than miggy" wow guys back it down a bit, glad he's off to a good start but let's be real

Great win today, Tigers!!! Finally the bats come alive!!! Glad to see JaCoby is doing well - that was SCARY!!! Love you all!!!!!
04/23/2017 at 23:38
We have a lot of good talent down in the Minors. Some of them that work very hard and would make great ballplayers. I love watching the Mudhens and Seawolves. While it's baseball, it's still a completely different world.

Great win Tigers. Glad the Tigers got a couple wins. Mudhens did a good job and a great win. Keep it going Tigers and hopefully we can get some more wins. Glad JaCoby is ok. Cant wait to get JD back and Miggy. Go Tigers. Love The Tigers!! :)

Great! The two new additions had the games of their lives, Victor finally got his big Extra Base Hit, and Fulmer was Fulmer..... great way to go into their day off tomorrow. Staying above .500 !
04/23/2017 at 22:12
Aducci, Hicks, and Jimenez just might be for real........Why are the Tigers messing with Sanchez, Mantook and Jones?.........we arent gonna get long relief innings from Sanchez so release him........bite the contract!!!!!!!!!!!!! Send Mantook and Jones to Toledo.......Jones needs to develop!!!!!
04/23/2017 at 22:42
Way to go Michael Fulmer! Just proving the future is bright with the young starters. Nice to see the bats wake up too (I don't even know who some of these guys are too). Salvaged the road swing and on our way home. Go Tigers!!!

All I can say - even though we won - is that Im soooooooooooooo thankful this is the last year of Anibal Sanchez's contract!!!
04/23/2017 at 22:12
Well it wasn't a horrible road trip, 4-5 on it. But can't get in the habit of getting swept by bad teams. Should have taken at least one from Tampa. But we did get two series wins against division rivals. Hope to keep everything together and have a great home stand here over the next week.
04/23/2017 at 21:44
I really expect Sanchez to be cut tomorrow.... given the day off. Verhagen could do a better job at long relief/emergency start for the Tigers.

I was encouraged by Anibal's last few spring training outings, but sadly, it looks like whatever "tweaks" made to his delivery didn't stick. He just cannot seem to find the right arm slot consistently. Sadly, I think it's time to cut ties with him.
04/23/2017 at 20:33
Undoubtedly a very unpopular signing by his dad ans Alex flips haters the bird as he not only is outstanding callling games but has gotten off to a torid start with the bat, not bad for a backup catcher.
04/23/2017 at 21:46
Last time I checked the box score it was 7-2... Initial thought... "Great hitting"... Second thought (jokingly)... "Anibal Sanchez probably pitched and that's how the Twins got 2 runs".... Third thought... "Let's check the box score... Well crap, anibal Sanchez did pitch and that is why the Twins scored two runs." No lead is safe with Sanchez on the mound. It's time to designate him for assignment.

I was watching the game when it happened. It looked horrible! I'm glad you're okay, it could have been a lot worse. Heal up! 💚♥
04/23/2017 at 19:02
It looked horrible. I immediately prayed for a full, quick recovery and relief from pain and decreed no broken jaw or teeth or concussion. God is Good. No luck involved. Answered prayer. Just Gods goodness and grace. Have a blessed day. ;)

Did they learn the little league fundamental of calling the ball from these kids? They definitely needed to work on that when they played Tampa on Thursday.
04/23/2017 at 17:21
I'm curious how they did then when the team is in Minneapolis ?

that is awsome that the tigers do that for the kids. FROM CARRIE ANN GOATLEY. i use my identical twin sisters phone.

It's not must win, but would be a nice chance for them to show they can pull together as a team with several teammates injured.....go TIGERS !!!

Lets go Michael Fulmer , the best starter on the Tigers right now! Need to keep the Twins bats in check with a lot of Tiger bats out of the line up. Go Tigers!!!
04/23/2017 at 16:15
LETS GO TIGERS Ithis is a really really bad first half we have so many players on the disabled list its crazy, Miguel is gone JD is gone Jose is gone, now jones? WHOS NEXT

JUp, Up, Up, and away! Great awesome home run from JUp. He continues to crush the ball and out of our regular daily players has the best batting average on the team. GO JUp! GO TIGERS! Winning it all in 2017! I BELIEVE!!!

Nick and J-Up pretty much carrying this team with all these injuries piling up. VMart needs to step up big with Miggy out, No extra base hits yet, 0 - 5 today and 6 runners stranded

Am I the only one that can stand Nick? Ever listen to his post game interviews and the way he carries himself? The guy is a tool and dick. Almost all Tigers are great guys. He reminds me of Juan Gonzalez lol
04/23/2017 at 04:42
Ausmus tried to lose the game again. I hate the way he manipulates the bullpen! why does he have the philosophy that a reliever can not throw to more than three batters.??? Drives me insane!
04/22/2017 at 23:00.
Nicholas Castellanos and Justin Upton each homered to back Matthew Boyd's outing as the #Tigers defeated the Twins on Saturday.

Bullpen is horrible and every player needs at least a day week of defense drills...I know it's still early in the season but if they don't get this crap under control we will be out of the race by the all star break
04/23/2017 at 00:40
Why take Justin Wilson out after he fanned 3 with no issues?! K-Rod almost blew this, I haven't seen the guy pitch a clean 9th in ages.
04/24/2017 at 01:42
These threads seem to always get to the point of spontaneous combustion. Brian Hopkins just adds fuel to that fire. Brian, your last too many to count posts in regards to KRod just reinforces that. Maybe you should start a Detroit Tigers through the eyes of Brian Hopkins thread and invite everyone to look and comment.🤗

Typical Twinkie Twurps, showing why they've been one of the biggest losers in the MLB since 2011! Learn to control your temper tantrum Sagoon than showing your felonious side by shoving McCann for no reason. Thank god the Tigers put them out of their misery
04/22/2017 at 22:33
Moral of the game: Throwing a pitch at a players face isnt NEARLY as bad as throwing a pitch behind him.
04/22/2017 at 22:40
Can we just remove K-rod out of the closer role already??? Dude gets lit up like a pinball machine.

Nicholas and Justin both flexed the muscle in the third inning. Both connect on their third home run of the year.

When's the last time a pitcher has been thrown out of a game when he didn't hit a batter, get in a fight, or even argue with the umpire? Whichever member of the umpire staff today decided to throw out Boyd, should never be allowed to ump in a game again.
04/22/2017 at 20:48
Jones got hit in the face, how come the Twins pitcher wasn't ejected? If Ausmus had a pair, he would have fought Boyds ejection. Leyland would not have stood for that. There was no reason for Boyd to be ejected.
04/22/2017 at 21:39
Ausmus needs to move VMart out of the 4 slot! He is having a terrible start and can't run worth a darn! Hopefully Cabrera only misses 8 games and J.D Martinez comes back in the next week! Go Tigers!
04/22/2017 at 17:48.

Both Miggy and JD out of the lineup, and with a non-existent bullpen aside from maybe the Wilson's. Could be a rough week and a half ahead.
04/22/2017 at 18:05
Well at lease its being taken care of now while its still early in the season and not in September when they are contending for the division title. And quit laughing people I can be hopeful cant I? Lol

He's good for about a third of the season on disabled list. Not his fault, getting old,but should have blown this team up after last year.
