As we begin National Volunteer Week, we'd like to say THANK YOU to all our amazing volunteers across the US. You have shown over and over again that you have the power to change the world. We applaud your tireless work to raise awareness for about bone marrow donation. Thanks to your hard work, we were able to provide 62,000 patients with a second chance at life.

In 2014, Melissa was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukemia. Today, Melissa is alive because of the bone marrow transplant she received from Daniela, a complete stranger. Last week, they got to meet for the first time.

Last week, we helped facilitate a patient-donor meeting between Jaxson and Michael. In order for Jaxson for have a healthy shot at life he needed a bone marrow transplant. Michael came to the rescue and gave Jaxson the second chance he needed. Read more about their amazing meeting!

Doctors have determined that having Factor V Leiden poses a health risk to a donor during donation. We wish that everyone could be a donor but the safety of the donor means the world to us and we put this first above anything else. Although those with Factor V Leiden may not be able to sign up, there are other ways to help that are just as urgent.

Jaxson and Michael are different ages, different ethnicities, and live in different countries. But they matched where it counts. When Jaxson was a baby, Michael donated life-saving bone marrow to him. Last week, they were able to meet for the first time.

When you have registered to become a potential bone marrow donor and have returned your swabs to us, we send it to a lab for processing. It usually takes 4-6 weeks for your swab kit to be processed. Once your swabs are processed, we will send an email confirmation to you.
