You're asking why?! They supplied him the whole formula E team, in addition to him being a former Renault F1 Champion. And above all, he's a fellow countryman.. and you know how the french are!
Prost should play a bigger role in Renault. With his experience and knowledge, he should probably help Renault claim victories.

They might have to wait until three four races to know how the car works.
I'm too distracted by how God awful those race overalls are to even comment on the car.
but the question is how much will the car change by the time it gets to Australia? What looks good in the wind tunnel doesn't always work on the track.

Sweet, so put three engines in each car, making it a second faster than last year, and it'll be able to beat the midfield cars!
Thomas Kron Södergren
New is not always reliable, but 0,3 seconds is about 14-17 meter per lap, approx 1km on 60 lap race, plus the same improvement during the season. Sounds like a big improvement without regulation change on the engine!
Calvin L Chubb
95% of the engine is new, but only 0.3s increase...Maybe they should have focused on that other 5% instead.

New floors look massively wide, while the 'coke bottle', looks no bigger than last year. So all the extra width is just the floor? Shark fins are back and look really high compared to rear wing. I'm loving the yellow accents on the black. Let's hope she's fast!!
The yellow is great, wish they would have done the whole car yellow. Too much dark colors in F1. Nice touch tho with the yellow on top of the fin.
I bet eddy jordan likes the color scheme , they all look good parked but its how they go around the track that sorts the men from the boys ... bring on race 1 ....

Of course not. Last year they had to use a 2015 Lotus car hastily adapted to the Renault engine, so this season will be, for all intempts and purposes, their first one since buying the team. Maybe one or two podiums by Hulk?
I saw this picture and squealed thinking this was the real car...then I saw the tires and the mild seven/benneton theme and cried.
If it looks even remotely similar it would be amazing.
I wish it would look exactly like that. That was one of the best looking cars ever. Loved that Mild Seven livery as well, great colors.

In my opinion... asking your engine partner to pull their weight and then rebadging their product is mega disrespectful. I wish Renault would dump RB.
02/20/2017 at 15:58
Ah ah ah If they fail it'll be Renault's fault if they succeed it'll be Red Bull's success. Life is easy. At least this time they don't cry "daddy ecclestone we need an engine" or "F1 is so boring when we dont't win". Amazing guys.

So thoughts on the new look cars, front wings are to big and still far to complicated and I always hated the fins on the engine covers...
02/20/2017 at 10:59
For my opinion, the new look Sauber may finish the best season on 9 years, maybe just behind Ferrari and ahead of Mercedes and Red Bull like 13 years ago of BAR when Button finished 10 podiums with his teammate Sato once.

Look! We are tired to see one more car been presented to the world, we do want results. We want a F1 car capable to compete, capable to give fight to the leader's cars. No one, want to see one more boring F1, season. Please, don't just present one more car. Present fight, competition, excitement and real F1 atmosphere on it.This is all we ask.
