Reigning champions Belgium and France will defend their 4x400m titles at the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade this March.

Belgium will face teams from Poland, France, Great Britain, Turkey and Serbia in the men's 4x400m while France will face teams from Great Britain, Poland, Ukraine, Italy and Germany in the women's 4x400m.

Frenchman Melvin Raffin smashed Teddy Tamgho's national U20 indoor record by 10cm with 17.04m in Aubière. Still only 18, Raffin also achieved the qualifying standard for the European Indoor Athletics Championships in Belgrade.
Spain's Ilias Fifa produced another fine run at the Cross Internacional Zornotza in Amorebieta, taking third place over 10.7km behind Eritrea’s Nguse Amlosom (32:52) and Kenya's Jairus Birech (32:55).

Fifa's Spanish teammates Ayad Lamdassem (33:05) and Antonio Abadia (33:11) were fourth and fifth respectively.
