Too much mascara, too much hair or too much attitude? Elements deemed unsuitable in Shenasnameh (Iranian ID) photographs are scrawled out with thick pen, hence the image is rejected by bureaucrats. By collecting these images, Amak Mahmoodian (1980, IR) tells their story and the ways in which photography functions at the official, personal and social level.

"I’m always searching for ways in which the photograph can visualise what remains invisible to the naked eye." Tom Callemin (1991, BE) was selected from the Foam Talent Call 2015.
