I tried this exact thing and the almond butter kept dripping off and the bananas were sliding around and shit also the sweet potatoes are small so I have to slice up like 4 to get my whole banana used up on top

I think this design is all wrong. The top 3 or 4 tiers will get the most sun but the bottom will have to rely on early morning and late afternoon which isn't generally enough for edibles. A pyramid shape is needed. How to harvest from the top tiers? Also, the depth of the planters allows for shallow roots only, like salad greens and herbs, not root vegetables or pepper or tomatoes. Why they didn't consult gardeners is a mystery...

Looks cool. But I don't see how you could grow things like squash and eggplants and cherry tomatoes. And how do you water without the plywood rotting in a summer or two?

What is the names of the seed companies? So glad to read all about global warming and how this new seed is going to save the world. Isn't that the same thing Monsanto said 20+ years ago, they were going to end world hunger?? Destroying this planet would end global warming. There may be some truth in that.

I'm all for legal immigrants starting a business and selling food, but it has to be done legally, with permits and abiding to safety and health standards. Illegal immigrants and illegal food stands must go.

Oh I dunno maybe crating them up and sending them to California every year, packed in workout enough air or space, sharing varroa and diseases from all over the country, all to be sprayed worn chemicals in the almond trees they were shipped to pollinate in the first place. All for money. Maybe people are killing bees for money?
02/20/2017 at 17:40
Oh I know this so well and all the lawn sprays that people use. Not only does it kill the weeds but it kills the bees and their food sources.

As long as they can ensure their customers know that the cheese does not contain any RBGH, antibiotics or steroids it should be OK. Making fancy cheese with poisoned milk just gives you fancy poison.

Why Ditching NAFTA Could Hurt America's Farmers More Than Mexico's

Aren't American farmers cheap Mexican labor? Just ask California and the deplorable "slave" conditions the Mexican immigrant farmers live in. No ditching NAFTA won't hurt it. You have a lot of people who could use a job if the greedy corporate bastards could se past their wallets. Put the welfare folks to work. No workie no eatie.

Belleville, Michigan, used to have 15 strawberry farms around it, and was home to the National Strawberry Festival. The farms are closed, strawberries shipped in. I'd rather have the farms back here.
02/19/2017 at 23:20
Perhaps the simplistic answer is that people eat "in season" and not force fruit to market off season. If it helps American workers we can live without strawberries in the dead of winter.

All diet fads, supplements, etc. are BS. Just cut out processed food and excessive sugar, salt, and fried foods. If you move around enough every day you can eat whatever you want. With regular exercise your body regulates itself and overeating shouldn't occur either. The only challenge is searching out better food sources for you and your family. If everyone punished these despicable corporations and didn't buy their trash food they would have to do a better job in providing more quality food.
02/19/2017 at 21:47
It's all about the process of where your food comes from that makes the world of difference, Lol 😂.
The more engineered the food becomes the more of a health risk, the more natural it is the better for you. It's real simple, now make/think about that the next you go food shopping.
02/20/2017 at 21:23
It's all about moderation. Honestly, most foods can have a place in a healthy diet; it's just about finding that right place.

I always cut around the mold or rotting spots on my peppers, but those peppers are only for cooking. I definitely cut mold off on cheese, unless the cheese is too moldy or tastes yucky...I usually check with my dog first before tossing the non-moldy yucky tasting parts, since her tastes aren't as discriminative is mine.
I do try not to let things get moldy though, because I hate food waste...That's my money I'm throwing away!

You have to get blueberry plants specifically for our southern climate. If you buy hem from a big-box store, they are probably for a more northern zone and will die in the heat in Houston. And if you do have success with some plants, be sure to cover them with bird net or your hard-earned harvest will disappear into the sky!

This is why I regularly eat raw hamburger. Raw hamburger either kills you or strengthens your immune system. Let's say you are at a church potluck. That lime chicken jello dish you are eyeing might have some of these suspect green beans in it. If you are eating your raw hamburger, you can partake with confidence because there is nothing in that lime chicken jello that can harm you.

Why The Dieting Mentality Can Prevent You From Losing Weight

"Dieting" may work for you in the short term, but you *WILL* eventually fail at it... why? Because "dieting" is a temporary solution. Anything temporary will not help you in the long run. What you need is a complete lifestyle dietary change. A PERMANENT change. If you want to see long term successes, then that's what you must do.

A lot of stores will clearance their not so fresh produce and meats.. that's all I buy because as a trucker I've seen how much food waste really happens!! Trash is cheaper than lawsuits.
02/17/2017 at 22:30
I prefer frozen. That way, I don't have to worry about the 'loss' factor and can also tailor my meals on any given day to what fruits/veggies I am in the mood to consume.
02/17/2017 at 20:17
Fresh IS best - I don't think anyone is disputing that? But if you have too much and it would otherwise go to waste, FREEZE it in order to use it later! Even little bits of this and that can be used to make a soup or casserole later. Fruits can be put into smoothies, pies, crisps, jams, etc. There is absolutely NO reason to waste food!
