Hardly a risk. A bad law and of course Greg won't touch his buddies who hire the illegals. You'd think Texas would wake up to the fake texas christian named abbott.
The trolls are out today. I support our governor 100%, All illegals must go. Explain this to me trolls. Where in the law does it say that punishment is only administered if it doesn't split up a family or hurt someone's feelings? There are citizens of the United States locked up every day for breaking the law and illegal aliens are breaking federal law just by being here.

I encourage more cities to follow Christ's example and open their arms and hearts to the immigrants and outcasts.
Maybe it'll be a lesson to our pitiful governor.

We need to do more to protect Texans from people like you Governor. You playing the old game of distract us from the real problems in this state and let's blame the Mexicans. It's people like you who are the real problem passing laws to benefit big business and ignoring the grinding poverty in Texas.

Important opinion piece by Texas Senator Donna Campbell about protecting Texas' military bases.
We must protect Texas' military installations from encroaching wind turbines

This is the silliest thing I have heard! The military bases could be powered by the turbines. And, as a supposed Pro Business person, I would think you would allow the companies that are starting their fair ability to do business. If the Military needs more land, then I think Texas or the Federal government should fairly buy the land and not steal it or prevent those people from doing business.
Mark Alan Hix
04/24/2017 at 17:32
Encroaching. Yes, where these wind turbines just get up and walk through the night, creeping up on unsuspecting folks who wake up one day and suddenly find themselves beset on all sides by renewable clean energy and a lack of dependence on foreign oil!
Encroaching wind turbines that lead to a more independent nation that is thus more able to be the country we want to be.
So encroaching, these wind turbines.
04/24/2017 at 17:37
It is interesting. However, two points come to mind.
If there is an actual danger to the ongoing mission of these bases, why not outlaw the building of wind farms nearby? Disallowing tax breaks seems to be aimed at economically damaging wind power.
Also, describing our military as an "industry" is a little odd and perhaps telling description.

How about stopping it with these toll roads! We've paid for these roads already, and now being charged again?? Not right! What are your plans to fix that?
04/24/2017 at 15:37
GET RID OF TOLL ROADS. More traffic will move because people can't afford additional unfair taxation to drive on roads our taxes paid for in the first place.
04/24/2017 at 15:37
What about investment in high tech public transportation in Texas cities and the suburbs that surround them? Why can't Texas be an example of the brilliance of American ingenuity with high speed rail that creates opportunities for jobs, both in transportation and by making it easier to get to jobs, etc?
Greg Abbott, will you support investment in high tech transport that gives Texans transportation choice, more freedom, and better access to jobs?

If you are a Christian you can not separate yourself from who you are and what you do. I commend you for stepping out and not being ashamed of who you are and what you believe. As you go about your service to the people of our great state it makes me feel good that even if I am not privy to your comings and goings God is and he will not be mocked. Serve with all your heart and mind with God as your guide and you can not go wrong.

Greg Abbott is as cynical as they come. Pretends to be Christian while plotting to strip people of health care, environmental protection, and other life necessities.
Texans don't belive you anymore. Your days are numbered.

I would not mind a few cents more on the sales tax if we got rid of property tax. Then the more people spend, the more they pay. Tax the disposable income of people. It is wrong to tax people on something they own. To me it's like having to pay taxes on a car you already bought.
04/22/2017 at 17:15
I live in the country off of a dirt road. The property taxes on my place have increased 82% since 2014. I'm all about paying my fair share, but no pavement, curbs & gutters, fire protection, sheriff might drive by once every 6 months. Enough is enough!!
Paula Crabb Mallory
04/22/2017 at 17:14
Do away with income tax, property tax. Charge 10% on everything we purchase, this way everyone pays taxes and you decide how much spend.

Oh my goodness people! It's storm season, and in some places a bit more extreme than others. If you want to complain, fine. Others will just prepare and be better off for it. But if you're in an area that could get hit hard by a storm and you lose everything, better not find you on any of Gov Abbott's posts crying and complaining!

My priest came to my home after my miscarriage and we had a private memorial. We did as our faith and hearts dictated to get through that tragic time. How dare you try to insert your personal views on me and my family or any other Texan going through this! Governor, you can handle your miscarriage how you see fit and I'll handle mine.

There is no medically-acceptable reason for this nonsense and the legal battles that will ensue will only cost taxpayers more money. You and Ken Paxton already have us on the hook for $600k over your hissy fit on gay marriage. Pay up or shut up.

We have a battle brewing here in Texas . Who is going to fund those prayer rooms for Muslim here in Our town they are putting in Our Schools, Who we tax payers and a Mosqu and a All black only Funeral home next to it ?We are a small town , so come take small town then to the bigger ones? Is this not Texas? So when do we take a stand
04/21/2017 at 11:51
"Remember the Alamo, Remember Goliad!" was the battle cry that day. As the Yellow Rose kept Santa Anna preoccupied, the Twin Sisters bellowed forth ball and grape and Houston led the charge. It was over in about 20 minutes. Santa Anna's army was no match against the fury of the Texians.

I have never seen this sign in Texas before, but I have seen it in many other states. Also, Texas raised the Disability Percentage from 50% to 60% for most of the State Veterans Benefits which meant I had to give up my Handicapped Status, Veteran License Plate, Drivers License, Parks Pass, and a few other benefits. ???

Access should never be an issue, for any child, including those in poverty. Please appropriately fund public schools for all children, as well as special education students. Everyone deserves a seat at a quality table. Everyone. Increase funding for public schools so we can best educate every student.
04/20/2017 at 17:20
For those who are saying it will cost too much...let's just think about how many Federal and tax payer dollars are spent to educate all the illegal children in our Texas schools. I think our dollars should be spent on U.S. citizen and not illegals and with our President's immigration stance, we have a chance to lessen the amount of illegal children we are forced to feed, house and educate.
04/20/2017 at 18:30
I am very critical of your work very often so I owe it to you to be equally complementary when you take a position like this. Taking care of the children of Texas is our number one responsibility. Good job!

04/19/2017 at 18:44
Wow. Thanks for giving these huge $multi-billion corporations tax abatements to drill in OUR state. Oh and that includes the Saudi (not American) Company SABIC. You remember the Saudis. A small group of Saudis knocked down the World Trade Center in New York. Oh, and you all are pushing really hard to lower the air and water pollution standards so we can quickly issue the permits needed to muck up the Texas environment.
04/19/2017 at 18:45
Please read the article. Both companies are receiving millions (yes, millions) from the "Enterprise Fund" and " tax abatements". Be sure to read the 3rd and 4th paragraphs from the bottom.

I would much rather my tax dollars go to training cops in community policing and de-escalation rather than buying them more equipment. The police are too militarized as it is.
When I went to Iraq in late 2003, soldiers were buying their own protective gear, at a high cost, because the government didn't have enough to go around. I applaud the governor and state legislature.

I am amazed when I read hurtful and cruel posts on line about our Governor. I grew up with Greg in Duncanville and know him personally to be a humble and caring person. I wish people could just be nice and considerate even if their views differ.
Has anybody other than me noticed that feminism has reached a level of radicalism unlike any time in history. And not necessarily for the better or for noble causes but full of hate and wild vitriol. When mothers start killing their babies we know that Satan has taken away their natural affection and responsibilities. Sad for womankind and society as a whole.
God bless you Governor Abbott. You are an incredible man. It's so awesome how open and vocal you are about your faith. Thank you!!!!
