7:50pm and moderate to heavy rain areas are moving inland towards Casino and Maclean. Most areas under this rain have already recorded 15-20mm however just to the South of Lismore there has been a localised fall nearing 50mm.

Fingers crossed the Northern side of this can make its presence known over the Gold Coast!

7:10am and showers/storms are lingering off the Coast. Much of the area between the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast has missed it but falls have been impressive South of the Gold Coast with 25mm at Tweed Heads, 49mm at Byron Bay and 104mm (including 51mm in the last hour) at Evans Head.

Miles has picked up 55mm in the last hour with 61km/h winds - 20mins away at Bedarra they've had 10mm.

Impressive structure on this potentially dangerous cell near Mendooran earlier.

On radar, this cell was being detected as very severe with signs of it possibly being a Supercell. Images such as this one show the rotating updraft which would support Supercell status along with a solid base and dense hail/rain core on the left of the image.
