Reverend William Menzie Webb was born in 1839 to an overseer in Southampton, St Ann. He was a member of the Parochial Board of Trelawny and an elected member of the Legislative council. However, one of his greatest achievements in his 72 years was establishing the Webb Memorial Baptist Church in Stewart Town, Trelawny.

Erected in 1815, The Falmouth Courthouse was one of the first official buildings of the town. The courthouse is of a Georgian design with fanlights, shingled walls and jalousies. Destroyed by fire in 1926, the courthouse was rebuilt and still stands today.
