Today we have launched Housing First Auckland, a jointly funded project between the Government and Auckland City Council aimed at ending chronic homelessness in our biggest city. International and local evidence tells us this is a highly effective programme that supports homeless people into secure housing as a necessary first step in working with them on underlying issues.
