Together we have given more food every year to New Zealand children going hungry since 2005.

We are proud that today we feed over 25,000 kids a week, but sadly we are seeing a greater need for food in the schools we support. Today the average percentage of children needing food support from KidsCan in lower decile schools is 34%, which is a significant increase over the past years.

We can...

"Dear KidsCan
Just a big thank you for the work you are doing. It impacts positively on our children in multiple areas. Our families can struggle, through no fault of their own, to provide for their children and this support is vital. It is fantastic to have new shoes and raincoats for the winter ahead and food for the children who have not brought morning tea and lunch. You are doing truly...

Every dollar counts so this $5,000 will make a real difference!

Meet Kevin (on the left) from one of our Pork Pie Charity Run teams, accepting a cheque from the Rotary Rotorua Sunrise for KidsCan and the kids of Rotorua.

This funding will go back into their community to help the kids get to school warm and dry this winter. Great result!

What does 50 cents mean to you?

How far can you get on a bus, or buy at a dairy with 50 cents? Is it just loose change, or more than that?

50 cents a day can provide one New Zealand child living in hardship with food, a raincoat, shoes and socks, and health care products at school. If 50 cents is loose change to you and you want to use it to create change, make the important decision to...

When it rains children without adequate clothing are either kept home from school or they arrive at school cold, wet and miserable.

"Some are in their school jumpers and some are even in their polo shirts. It doesn't mean they are setting themselves up for a good start to the day," Principal, St Mary MacKillop School.

There are over 1,000 children waiting for our help right now. Just 50c a...

"A lot of our children walk to school, they don't have transport, so when it rains and is cold they simply don't come, so that impacts their ability to learn, it impacts their education.

"For us it's about meeting those material needs so that they can get to school, which puts them in a position to learn," Julie Chapman, KidsCan CEO.

"When our kids are well fed, have shoes, and warm clothing during the day, they are more alert and can concentrate better. Their mood and memory improves too. And when our kids are hungry, cold and wet are more likely to get sick or absent from school more frequently. This causes them to fall further and further behind as they get older. It is also difficult for these students to reach their...
