Actor Miguel Ferrer, who starred in "NCIS: Los Angeles" died Thursday of cancer, Variety reported. He was 61.

Ferrer was George Clooney's first cousin.

In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter Clooney said that Ferrer "made the world brighter and funnier and his passing is felt so deeply in our family."

It's been four long and agonizing days for the family of Nichelle Johnson, who investigators believe is inside her submerged car in the Sacramento River.
