Brexit voters based their view on immigration on the lies they’d read, not the actual migrants they've met, says James O’Brien.

Both sides told lies. What if the public had enough intelligence to ignore the lies and make up their minds based on what they WANT. We are leaving, get over it, join the accepting public and work with us. Crying and moaning is negative vibes that will achieve nothing.
06/23/2017 at 12:35
Not this one. The stories my Polish friends told me of their generations old businesses being wiped out by big corporations running them out of town was a factor in my decision. That and the fact they said they would vote to leave if they could, combined with Polish nations with British citizenship ACTUALLY voting to leave. There's a much bigger picture than what the media like to talk about.

Khan sounded like a kid with some of his answers - he really isn't Mayor material, and a bloody embarrassment around the world.

He actually disgusts me......khan showed no emotion or intention to protect jews/other religions in this country ...shameful ...cant treat one religion better than another ..those flags are hatred ..and he doesn't care ..almost condones it ...look at his body language.....says it all...he needs to go and quick...

It should have ended when the tenant put out the small fire himself instead he packed up his belongings into some bags and just walked off.

All hotpoint fridge freezers are to be given a new home in Luxury apartments in Kensington,£5500 in cash and money from the appeal and money from the record sales. And if any illegal immigrant Beko fridge freezers come forward they can have the same benefits.
06/23/2017 at 10:47
Yes we know about the cladding and how lethal that is.. but I think it is important to know where it started too. Hotpoint really are a dangerous brand of electrical goods...remember all the tumble dryers that went on fire recently..and most were recalled and had to be modified ..mine included !! Criminal charges need to be brought..Clearly !!

Nice. I always look forward to someone beating this high score in the pointless game of death we're in. I hope this war goes on forever so maybe someone from my country can get a high score too and I can feel proud of our military. Hooraa.

Anyone else noticed that the homeless guy who stopped an Islamic terrorist is being put up in a hostel. Yet the illegal migrants are being homed?
06/23/2017 at 08:49
Why doesn't someone come out with the true facts . Who started the fire why were all the fire does propped open why was there not a caretaker on site . It's insanity to believe that migrants from all around the world are able to live in a 21st century environment. As has been said some cook on open fires in the middle of the floor, they are allowed to smoke . It has to be a controlled environment not left to people to do as they wish..

This will be fun. I won't even start other than to say that you all fell at the first hurdle in terms of democracy by sending this guy who is unelectable in the U.K. through a democratic process run through the UK where you have the opportunity to change Europe from within. But no. Xenophobia will rule.

To be fair, Tusk can see the 'cash cow' about to leave the field, and he would desperately like to see the gate closed to stop it from departing. The EU want to go on milking it until the udders bleed.

Donald Tusk is speaking for the majority of the British people. Even if there ever was a majority amongst the general population (37% is hardly a ringing endorsement) that dissipated months ago. Let us have another say, and the chance to stop this stupidity.

This is the UK in 2017, perhaps people will acknowledge just how utterly divided the country has become. this is the attitude that led to the cladding being the priority in the first place. Poverty is OK as long as we don't have to see it.
I agree with her. She pays £15,500 a year in service charges and for that reason, I've no doubt the estate is spotless.
These people have my deepest sympathy, but the fact is that these social/council blocks have a tendency to be messy and full of trouble. If I had a multi-million pound apartment and was paying service charges like that I'd be concerned about this too. It could wipe six figure sums off the value.

Sh*t stirring again. May said in Parliament, that no stone would be unturned and there will be no hiding place for those found to be responsible.
One of the cover-ups will be how many of the residents were sub-letting flats, and how many illegal immigrants were living in those flats.
this is going to take a lot of time - If I recall right there are something like 120 flats in this building, this means 120 scenes of crime to be investigated. also before they can do anything they have to make sure the building is secure to go in. I'm sure all the I WANT IT NOW people would be horrified if 1 person was killed because they went to to the building and it collapsed. I know answers are needed but give the police and fire investigation teams time to do their work.

The Tories' record on the economy is yet another reason to NOT vote for them. People have been hoodwinked into believing they're economically competent though. An outrageous lie, repeatedly well told...

The Tories have wracked up more debt than every Labour government in history combined all while selling us the Austerity lie which has failed spectacularly on its own terms of reducing the deficit and eradicating it by 2015. The myth of Tory economic competence is exactly that....a myth.

no. their record on the economy is appalling. their "good" record relies on us taking them at their word on their claims of having a good record, despite the fact nobody has seen any of these amazing economic results we're constantly told about.

Compassion is one thing - however it would be wrong to offer illegal immigrants a new home as it would encourage illegal immigrants living elsewhere in London to claim that they lived in the tower block with a now deceased family.
It couldn't be proved if there is no record in the first place !
Regardless of what's happened, you break the law you should take the punishment. No amnesty no benefits no nothing , just a ticket out of here back to where you came from ! This liberal bullshit has got to stop and if this offends some people, so what ! You ain't going to die from it are you . Illegal immigrants are here illegally and should be removed at once , no questions asked
yesterday at 07:42
This kind of sub-letting and flats full of illegal immigrants appears to be endemic in London. This tragedy has simply highlighted that fact. What should happen now as a matter of urgency, is an investigation into just how serious the problem is, and a plan put in place to round-up and deport these illegals. Or would that be seen as in some way, 'racist'?

ILLEGAL being the word find, charge if appropriate then deport.
Jarod A. Goodwin
They're illegal, they shouldn't have lived there in the first place because they shouldn't have been living in the UK in the first place. Giving them amnesty is just ridiculous and it might even result in an increase in arsons and other such things because it gives people the sense that if some ill happens to illegals then they can be given amnesty and now allowed to live in the UK with full benefits. Once again it seems Khan is speaking without thinking.
This just highlights the dangers of a labour government. It would be an absolute free for all. Khan needs to go. After some of the things he's said, he cannot be trusted as our mayor.

Mob rule ?
Even the speaker of the house told him to jog on.
And it's the manchild Trump that's making the decision not to come, because he's scared of being somewhere he's not loved by sycophants.
06/21/2017 at 20:50
Farage only likes the 'will of the people' when it benefits him... as soon as the populace stands up to his narrow-minded view on any issue he cries out about 'mob rule', ignoring the fact that mobs of bigoted and hate-fuelled idiots make up a huge proportion of his support. We oppose state visits by fascists; deal with it. If Trump chooses not to come for that reason, then you lost: get over it. Your arguments can be applied to disagree with you as well, you know...
06/21/2017 at 20:58
Didn't he "predict" (nudge idea on to the floor) that there'd be violence on the streets as the next step, and that people should demonstrate against the high court decision? He loves a bit of mob rule, when it suits him. He loves a bit of the establishment and rules when it suits him. He loves a second vote against a vote that he suspects won't go his way when it suits him. He loves a "democracy has spoken" and that's that, when it suits him. Not big on principals our nige... ukip rage flooding in, in 3, 2, 1...
