YOU ASKED: AM I PRONE TO WINTER ALLERGIES IF I SUFFER FROM SUMMER ALLERGIES?

SAY WHAT!?

Do you know that your expression for a sneeze depends on where you come from? Whilst English-speaking sneezers say "achoo", the French exclaim "atchoum", Filipinos declare "ha-ching" and the Japanese pronounce their sneeze "hakashun".

What sneeze language do you speak?

DID YOU GUESS IT?

Yesterday we asked what you should consider getting rid of in order to control dust mite allergens in your home. The answer is WALL-TO-WALL CARPET.

It’s true! Wall-to-wall carpets are breeding grounds for dust mites. Wood and tiled floors give dust mites less cover to hide in. Rugs are okay if they can be cleaned easily on a regular basis. Do you know that there are tests...

When you’re not suffering from the itchy, sneezy, runny nose symptoms of an allergy, your nose can be quite useful! In fact, the nose with its sense of smell is directly linked to the memory centres of the brain so it’s no wonder that all it takes is a familiar scent from the past to unleash a floodgate of forgotten memories.

Let’s play! Take a look at today’s image. What memory...

DID YOU GUESS IT?

Yesterday we asked when someone with indoor allergies should vacuum. The answer is AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE!

In an ideal world someone who isn't allergic should do the job. This may not be practical though, so always opt for a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter or double-layer bag when cleaning your home. Wear a dust mask too! For relief from the coughing, sneezing symptoms of...
