After receiving a bouquet of daffodils from his keepers, Nico had a little "spring" in his step For a 180kg Gorilla he can be surprisingly gentle and dexterous.

Who else is excited for spring?

It's SUPER SATURDAY in this year's Six Nations! Mum and cubs have been attending lessons on the ins and outs of ruggers. Unfortunately, whilst they have speed on their side, their coach has informed us that their ball skills are somewhat poor. Stick to the running guys!

Now this is a tough one! Which of our animals are you always most excited to see on our Jungle Cruise? Make sure to let us know by reacting to this post with a 'Like', 'Love', 'Haha' or 'Wow'.

Could it be Spot and Sonia the hippos, or Nico, Kesho, Alf and Evindi the gorillas? Or perhaps Buster and his family of sea lions or the flock of pelicans at the end of the lake?

The three-banded armadillo may look harmless enough, but when this little mammal curls into a protective ball, it often leaves a space open for a defensive purpose. If a predator's nose or paw gets into this gap in an attempt to pry the armadillo open, it will react by slamming its shell closed, potentially injuring the inquisitive predator.

Thanks to Matt (FurLined on Flickr) for this...

Happy International Women's Day ♀ May you all be as strong and fierce as the lioness!

Though male lions defend their territory, the lionesses are the main providers. These formidable huntresses work together to bring down prey that is often much larger and faster than them to provide enough food for the whole pride ????

Who knew hippos could roar? Yep, you got us, we're just kidding. But hippos can be very fierce - their jaws can open at an angle almost as wide as 180 degrees to threaten other animals who may try to stake a claim on their territory.
