"Cross Road Blues" (more commonly known as "Crossroads") is a blues song written and recorded by American blues artist Robert Johnson in 1936. Johnson performed it as a solo piece with his vocal and acoustic slide guitar in the Delta blues-style. The song has become part of the Robert Johnson mythology as referring to the place where he supposedly sold his soul to the Devil in exchange for his musical talents, although the lyrics do not contain any specific references.

Not Skynyrd. If you love making music do Johnny Van Zant Band or Blackfoot or bring back the Rossington Band with members of the 'new' touring group. If Skynyrd really was a side thing they did just to keep their (RVZ!) music alive, I'd get it and be much more into it. But $$$$$$$ speaks

This is the good stuff!!! Awesome... Both Winterland (1975 & 1976) concerts are kick ass great!

Onya Troy, one slight criticism John paul? just check out his you tube channel and moving up and down the neck is a good thing wow, a bass god
John Paul Lepre
05/23/2017 at 18:36
He's pretty good. One slight criticism would be that he moves up and down the neck a little unnecessarily. He could play more around the 3rd and 4th frets more to clean up his technique a bit.

I've seen this bloke nail Rush tracks. Totally different bands. Totally great music! Well done and thanks for posting.

They, along with a handful of others are responsible for the bs that is New Country. It's unfortunate because there was so much great music that these talentless new country artists have bastardized

I grew up in the 80's listening to Hank. that's what my parents were listening to at the time but, his music also opened doorway to Classic Rock. I've seen Hank but, I've seen Skynyrd twice. So I say THANK YOU HANK!
05/23/2017 at 04:19
I love them both I've seen Hank 7 times and Skynyrd 3 times one was the original Skynyrd and the other 2 the new Skynyrd with his brother Johnnie always awesome performances RIP Ronnie

I have no doubt that if not for that October night this band would have been as big as The Beatles, Eagles and so on. But even so, their legacy will never be matched. They have touched many lives and they live on. Good to see them still out and about.

Slight correction, Sweet Child O' Mine was an 80's rock anthem having been released on Guns n' Roses debut album Appetite For Destruction in July of 1987.

So many memories, one of my favorite I believe it was 1977, Jacksonville Florida first out door concert ever for me a jam packed stadium . It was like a dream. I'm sure it had nothing to do with all the smoke that was in there.

I love love love this...Blackberry Smoke is amazingly talented band. They love their fans and donate the money from meet and greets to charity. You couldnt meet 5 nicer genuine people. I have seen them live 50 times. To see their growth as musicians since I started following them 6 yrs ago has been nothing short of fantastic. I cant wait to see what the future will bring for this incredibly talented band.
05/21/2017 at 18:27
blackberry smoke's last 2 albums have reached #1 on billboard country charts, in spite of having virtually NO rotation on main stream radio. a great band.
05/21/2017 at 15:48
Blackberry smoke sings skynryd a whole lot better than the clowns they got up there now. Maybe Gary should come play with blackberry smoke instead of living off ronnies dime along with the other clowns.

I'll be damn if I'd be celebrating it....I'd keep my mouth shut and hope it went away. ...
Horrible songwriting in the band...problem? Too many chiefs not enough Indians (No pun intended) you got a mixture of weirdos, ones who gave up long ago and are just going thru the motions, and ones who are on an ego trip without the talent to back it up.
I could fix what's broken in that band. Return some of the glory...but it would involve some hurt feelings, crushed egos and the unemployment line for a few.....

I'm a second generation Skynyrd fan and Vicious Cycle was the first album I personally bought. I thank by dad for turning me onto one of the greatest bands in history. "Lucky Man" is a beautiful tune, favorite off the album has to be "Life's Lessons" though.

Happy Birthday SNS! In the late '70's, and until '89, was a DJ in Tupelo, Ms. From '84 till around the end of '88, I did a show on Saturday nights, playing classic rock, although that was before it was coined 'Classic Rock.' One guess what the show's name was, and the opening number.

The original Skynyrd was one of the greatest bands this country has ever produced...Does not matter where you are from, or what your political beliefs are--this band was awesome...
05/19/2017 at 23:29
I was given their first album at 5 yrs of age, when it was released. Given to me by my older brothers so they could record it on cassette. Been my favourite band ever since. My family and loads of my friends still listen to them regularly!! This from the south end of Australia. What an impact they have had.

Got to love Stevie Ray's very worn and cracked guitar! You can tell he played the hell out of it. What character he had. Truly a gifted artist!
He said, "You know Ronnie was a songwriter, and a singer, and he wrote those words and I'm sure he'd want to hear 'em."
