It is timely as we approach the holiday period, to urge all Australians to take care and drive safely. It’s a joyous and happy time of year but on the roads it can be a dangerous one.
I was at the Alfred Trauma Centre today to announce funding for the National Trauma Registry - $450,000 over 3 years - which collects major injury data from the 27 trauma centres from around Australia. This...

Say it ain't so, bro!

John Key has been one of the world's most outstanding national leaders. He is a role model for a reforming Prime Minister, and a great friend. He leaves New Zealand with a strong economy and a budget surplus.

He has done an extraordinary job and his resignation is a loss for his country, our region and the world.

A beautiful morning in Bondi to launch the 2016 Surf Life Saving Coastal Safety Report and start the Bondi to Bronte Race.

We are so lucky to be able to enjoy some of the most beautiful beaches in the world – but it’s important to talk about how we can be safe in and around the water.

These holidays, I encourage everyone to swim between the flags, follow the instructions of our lifesavers...

Christmas is a season for family, but we should remember those Australians without family, or who may not have presents around the tree.

The Wishing Tree Appeal is a great partnership between Kmart Australia, The Salvation Army Australia and Mission Australia, bringing a Christmas gift to thousands of kids who would not otherwise receive one.

This year has been a year of delivery. We have been delivering on our National Economic Plan.

We have succeeded in securing the passage of the Registered Organisations Bill and the restoration of the Australian Building and Construction Commission - the two bills that were the triggers for the double dissolution election. We have secured superannuation reform. We have defended owner-driver...

The Senate has today passed a key economic reform that will fix a big problem in Australia’s third largest industry, our construction sector.

By bringing back the building watchdog, the ABCC, Australia will have a much stronger building industry.

A stronger building industry, will build a stronger Australia.

Today, parliamentarians from across the political divide have come together to link arms in a historic display of support for the No More campaign that aims to end domestic and family violence in Indigenous communities.

Founded by Indigenous leader Charlie King, the No More campaign also aims to foster a greater appreciation of, and respect for, women.

Violence is a scourge on our...

Restoring the ABCC is not just about protecting workers and stopping the union thugs; it’s about improving productivity and reducing construction costs in one of our most important industries. Restoring the rule of law to work sites is an important part of our national economic plan.

Australia’s 165,000 sparkies, 124,000 carpenters, 87,000 plumbers, 46,000 painters, 43,000 civil engineers...

Declan is visiting Canberra on his wish to be a VIP, organised by @makeawishaust. He arrived with his family at Parliament House in an AFP Motorcade today.

Declan hasn’t been well lately but today found out what it was like to sit in the Prime Minister’s chair and visited the Cabinet Room before exploring the rest of Parliament House. #makeawish
This morning I welcomed His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Parliament House.

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is one of our closest partners in the Middle East and our very strong relationship is based on mutual respect, common perspectives and a shared desire to contribute to stability and security.
Today I updated the Parliament about the Government's measures to address the threat of terrorism.
On White Ribbon Day, we stand together and we condemn the actions of those who commit domestic violence.
We call on all men to respect women and show that they abhor violence against women, to stand with us and say so.
Today we appointed Julie Inman Grant as the new eSafety Commissioner. Julie will take on a lead role in combatting revenge porn and online safety for Australians.
Early this morning the Senate passed the Registered Organisations Bill - a key step to increase financial accounting and disclosure requirements placed on registered organisations, including unions.

Too often the union fees of Australian workers were spent on things as ludicrous as toys, dating sites, tattoos and iTunes purchases. Behaviour like this must stop - and that is what our...
