Marc and Jodie Emery are in trouble with the law again. Toronto police arrested them at Pearson International Airport on their way to Spain. Ten years ago I would have said, “Tough luck, you broke the law.” The so-called Prince of Pot made a name for himself defying the law and thumbing his nose at authorities in his single-minded attempt to make marijuana acceptable and legal.
A former Liberal cabinet minister who recently chaired a panel guiding Ottawa's push to legalize cannabis says police everywhere should enforce the existing prohibition of marijuana, despite several communities in British Columbia choosing to regulate – not raid – illegal pot shops.
Was just watching "The Chief" on CP24 spout every lie and untrue propaganda talking point when asked about Cannabis Culture and Project Gator. "Shatter is explosive", "mold, mildew, pesticides, feces in this", "its about public safety", "organized crime", "just about making money", ad nauseam. Dave Chapelle's 2017 special new on Netflix is brilliant and very interesting and it was a marvel to get through. And there's weed in there too, but really all about race, gender, cops, the law, acceptance, masculinity, being black, and, it's great.
