Doctor Earl W. Noll, retired U.S. Navy hospitalman, was awarded the Purple Heart by Brig. Gen. William M. Jurney, commanding general, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego/Western Recruiting Region, during a morning colors ceremony at MCRD San Diego, June 2. Noll was awarded the medal for sustaining injuries during his service in Vietnam, Aug. 5, 1967.
