On this day in 1959, Robert Timm and John Cook's World Endurance Flight landed at McCarran, setting a record of 64 days, 22 hours, 19 minutes and 5 seconds in the air without touching the ground. The record still stands today. Visitors at the airport can see the 1958 Cessna 172 hanging over the north end of Terminal 1 Baggage Claim.
