Congratulations to recent Media Design School graduates Claire Barilla (Game Art) and Tom O'Brien (Game Programming) who both made the 2016 MCV Pacific 30 Under Thirty. This list recognises the brightest young talent working in the video game industry across Australia and New Zealand and to have TWO of our former students appear on it is a huge deal!

The final title to be showcased during MDS' Movie Week is The Trocean!

Directed by Kristian Arntzen Karijord, The Trocean features a battle-scarred Captain who struggles against the environment of a tree-covered planet to hunt his prey that lurks below.

It may not be the most conventional (or historically accurate) story, but today's film, Pug of War, chronicles the adventures of courier dog who is side-tracked from their top secret mission by a trapped cat.

Today's brand new short film, Asgard Goods, proves that even the deadliest Viking warrior has to deal with life’s most mundane tasks!

Asgard Goods was directed by Asbjorn Dahl Jenstad and created by five third year Bachelor of Art and Design students. Over the course of twelve weeks, they animated 1,455 trees and produced 22 shots.

Our second MDS short film of the week, Principium, follows an ominous space vessel which drastically changes the universe one planet at a time.

Directed by Chris Hagfors Dahlmo, Principium by Team Moonstone was developed by six third year 3D Animation and Visual Effects students.

This week, we'll be profiling a brand new MDS student film each day!

In Scraps, a starving rat who lives in a scrap-yard builds a rocket in the hopes that he will make it to the moon (which he thinks is made out of cheese).

Scraps was created by six third year 3D Animation and Visual Effects students (three technical directors, two compositors, and an animator) over the course of twelve weeks.
