Where are our Mustangs now?

After four weeks on a short-term contract in Scotland, 2016 Mustangs import James Isaacs is back in the ECHL with the Cincinnati Cylones for the 2016-17 season.
Plenty of familiar faces in this bunch...

Congratulations to the past and present Mustangs, and all the Melbourne Jets on their Premier A Championship!
We have reached our final award for 2016!
Most Valuable Player - Michael McMahon

Joining the Mustangs late, Michael quickly established himself in the line up as a solid defence player who was rarely beaten one on one.

His reliable play became a key feature of the Mustangs play for 2016.

We look forward to seeing Michael in the black and orange for many seasons to come!
2016 Most Valuable Australian Player - Sean Jones

Having his best ever season statistically, Sean continued to be a leader for the Mustangs both in the locker room and on the ice, making some big plays and scoring clutch goals when the team needed them most.
2016 Players' Choice Award - Brendan McDowell

This year, for the first time the club awarded an award to a player that was voted by his peers.

As all voting was anonymous, we don't know why Brendan got the most votes, but it was probably because he's a great person and an excellent team mate, and not because he gave everyone $5 to vote for him.
2016 Coaches Award - Matt Stringer

The Mustangs' games-played record holder continues to set the standard.
Known for his high work rate, Matt does whatever job the Mustangs need doing and helps to add depth to the line up game in, game out.
2016 Most Improved - Luke Fisher

After switching from inline to ice Luke was unsuccessful in making the Mustangs squad in 2015. He tried again in 2016, he made the squad and continued to develop at a rapid rate due to his high work ethic.

Scoring his first goal in the last game of the season against the Newcastle North Stars was the year's highlight.
2016 Most Inspirational - Ryan Ruddle

From the opening try out to his last game, Ryan would work hard both on and off the ice .

Always the first to show his support to his teammates, he gave the Mustangs everything he had throughout the season.
2016 Rookie of the Year - Corey Stringer

His ability to play both forward and defence makes Corey a valuable asset to the Mustangs line up.

After playing 8 games in 2015 Corey continued to develop in 2016, playing 25 games. He continues to show the future is bright for this up and coming Mustang.
