Life's too short to suffer through a book you just don't like.

I fought and fought to get a through "The Trail" by Kafka. Even after finally finishing it there was no great satisfaction. But now , years later I find myself drifting back to it, the absurdity of today's world remind me of Mr. K's attempt to make sense of the world and his role in it. I guess what I'm getting at is just because something doesn't produce immediate gratification it doesn't mean that it won't eventually

There are no rules to life... you choose what you want when you want... just beware of consequences... all actions creates more action...

If you're riding in a car, at any speed, let's say 70mph, and you throw a tennis ball or golf ball in the air...playing catch with yourself; why doesn't the ball go through the back window of the car while it's in the air? Inertia also?... Asking for a friend.

That's as stupid as asking why, when I jump on the deck of a moving ship, doesn't the boat travel underneath me and cause me to land in a different place on the deck.

I remember when I was young and times were tough my mom used to go to the local Animal Shelter and bring home as many stray cats as she could. Later that evening we would all feast on her world-famous Clowder Chowder. Man, that stuff was really the cat's meow!

My sister was a Polio Pioneer, the group of children initially inoculated against polio. Salk gave his vaccine formula away to protect all people from polio. Today's Big Pharma could take a lesson from Jonas Salk.

I had Polio around the age of 3 (1950). I'm so grateful that the vaccine became available in 1953. Wouldn't want anyone to go through having Polio or the after-effects. Post-Polio Syndrome has affected me in many ways!

Some ask what you want and some say this is what it pays, the ones that ask what you want only do it because they know you will ask for less than they were willing to pay.

And before anyone says it, no, ibuprofen does not cause heart attacks. The research shows that in people over 40, long-term high-dose usage of ibuprofen is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease. The lesson here is common sense- like everything else, moderation is key.

The biggest thing we, as a society, need to focus on with pain meds is the "as needed" part. We know from research that most middle aged adults have small tears in their rotator cuff, degenerative changes in their spinal discs, and loss of cartilage in their joints. These are normal. Having to deal with small aches and pain as we age is normal. Pain education is woefully lacking in this country and this greatly contributes to our prescription drug crisis.

the most beautiful people you'll ever meet aren't always the ones who catch your eyes first. No, the most beautiful are the ones that can never be figured out. The one you could talk with for many hours and still have a million things to ask. The people who have mind so lovely and special, you can help but fall in love with them.
