It will have the steepest stands in Australia and be one of the best venues in the world to watch football.

Today we announce we've chosen the contractor to design and build Parramatta's new stadium. And it will open in early 2019. ⚽

Helloooo summer!
Friday fun fact: We're digging so many tunnels for new roads, we need 53 of these big beasts to get the job done.
Today we started tunnelling for the new M5.

8 things to know about it:

✅ 16 roadheaders will be in action, each digging through enough rock to fill an Olympic size swimming pool every week

✅ It’s a $4.3 billion project that will stretch from St Peters to Beverly Hills.

✅ 9km of twin underground tunnels

✅ Travel times slashed by up to 30 minutes

✅ M5 East travel times halved during...

The Queen of the Baird house hosted Queen Rania of Jordan in Sydney today.
Richmond Road Upgrade: Finished.

With 70,000 new homes being built in the area, we fast-tracked it under our Housing Acceleration Fund, meaning it was finished four years ahead of time.

Oh, and it came in on budget.
Today we opened our NINTH new/upgraded hospital for the year. Was great to visit Lismore to see the amazing facility.

What were the other 8? Tamworth, Dubbo, Parkes, Forbes, Bega, Kempsey, Byron and Blacktown. And there's plenty more to come, because we're just warming up.
Big announcement today: A new underground metro railway from Parramatta to the CBD will be the next major public transport project we undertake in NSW.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Tonight, the Opera House has been lit up with red poppies to honour those who have served our nation.

Lest we forget.
Deng is living proof of what people can achieve when given the opportunity.

He represents the very best of what makes Australia great, and has channelled his success into helping hundreds of people in NSW.

It was an honour to, last night, name him the NSW Australian of the Year.

Deng Adut named NSW Australian of the Year

We're digging a 9km tunnel called Northconnex that will link the M1 to the M2. And it will mean drivers can bypass 21 sets of traffic lights.
Did you know that NSW has an official "graffiti removal day"?

Well, it does. And it's today.

Just saying.
We're digging the longest road tunnel in the southern hemisphere. And it will mean you can drive from Newcastle to Melbourne without a single traffic light.

Northconnex will...

Ben: “Mike, this project has given me a great new job and good people to work with…”

Ben’s mate: “Now he just needs you to find him a wife.”

Leave it with us, Ben.

It was great to meet some of the 400 apprentices who will be trained on the Westconnex project. Not only do these young workers get to be part of a massive infrastructure project - they will also be equipped with trades that will...

$16.189 billion for the partial lease of Ausgrid.

4.9% unemployment in NSW - the lowest in Australia.

5km of track already laid for the Sydney Metro.

There are good days ahead as we rebuild NSW.
Can a local café help change the world?

John (the guy with a beard) observed a serious challenge faced by refugees when they arrive in Australia: many struggle to get their first job because they have no experience. And they can’t get any experience because they can’t get a job. And, on the cycle goes.

So John started "Darcy St Project". It’s a café in Parramatta where he trains refugees,...

Today we have written to the Federal Government to seek their approval to roll out a 6 month trial of shark nets on the North Coast.

About a year ago, I wrote about the shark situation up north. You can read it below.

The short version of it is: we were concerned about the increased number of shark attacks, were prioritising the trial of some new technologies whilst also engaging with locals...
