Today the MOD signed a £14 million contract for lifesaving medical technology. The Tempus Pro monitors, designed and manufactured by Remote Diagnostic Technologies (RDT), based in Basingstoke, can help facilitate emergency treatment for Royal Navy, British Army, and RAF personnel if they are injured or taken ill on active duty.

Last month, the Defence Secretary confirmed £1.7 billion will be invested to upgrade Scottish military bases. Scotland is also home to the UK’s nuclear deterrent submarines at Her Majesty’s Naval Base Clyde, and the Quick Response Aircraft at RAF Lossiemouth.
This work will generate hundreds of millions of pounds for the UK defence industry, with the potential to unlock more than £2 billion of future F-35 support revenue over the lifetime of the programme. This will help sustain thousands of high tech jobs and skills.
