9 Surprising Foods With More Sugar Than a Krispy Kreme Doughnut

Well ok, this is a totally valid reason not to have either; sugar is an empty calorie. If it doesn't have fiber, skip it!
But the more important reason to never have krispy kreme (or any donuts) is the excessive fat content, and especially the transfat content!
06/24/2017 at 18:53
Krispy Kreme doughnuts are not as bad as people think. It's not going to hurt you to eat a couple of KK doughnuts every once in a while, for God's sake. Now if you get a dozen and eat them all the time, that's a different story. We all should be able to treat ourselves to something we enjoy every once in a while without the nutrition police hounding us about it.
06/24/2017 at 18:46
The glycemic index provides a much more scientific gauge of where those sugars eaten winds up in the human body. Gotta read and understand the difference in sugars...

Opinion: Gawker was of an era when the internet was being fairly clickbaity and low brow. That era needed to end, but the lawsuit was sort of a case of tyranny. Money bought the law and crushed a company. It then awarded the hulk with absurd amounts of money. It was not justice, it was a sad event. Again I didn't like gawker and hulk and thiel were wronged, but more wrongs did not make a right.
06/24/2017 at 18:11
Sounds like gawker pushed their extremism too far and are paying the consequences for doing so. Maybe MJ should take note.

I went to private schools for all but one year. All of my most painful memories were caused by spoiled rich kids, their snooty parents and the teachers who sucked up to them. I say let the rich kids take their money and run. Hopefuly they'll get as far away as possible. Poor kids will be better off in the end.
06/24/2017 at 16:39
I call BS on the headline although I agree with the concept. It should read The wealthy keep finding ways to segregate schools. Otherwise it's like saying, Blacks find new way to abuse the welfare system. That's a racist and stupid comment. Much like the headline.
06/24/2017 at 16:49
One of the most high-impact activities you can do in your community is to run for the school board. It's typically volunteer, but there's little cost or fundraising required. If you want to fight against these kinds of injustices that's a really good way to do it

Why do I want to eat a wheat and potato patty on a wheat bun, soaked in heart-unhealthy oil, offset by limp lettuce and a slice of tomato? Where's the nutrition when we eat fatty carbs on carbs? At least lentil and mushroom patties have protein and fiber.
06/24/2017 at 15:46
Recently in NYC, The Economist held a street event to talk about food sustainability. They served small portions of the "burger that bleeds." TBH, it was really tasty! I"m only vegetarian-friendly, not a fan of ""mock meat", but also not a fan of beef (for texture, digestive, and sustainability reasons). I would eat this over a beef burger pretty much any time. It was better than a diner but not high-end. If you don't eat meat but like the thought of an occasional burger, it's worth it.

If they didn't call it " fake meat" I might be more inclined to eat it.

Democratic Party are being pussies right now. Actually, have been for a while. Grow some fucking balls and go to town on them. This is the real "death panels" the Republicans were talking about. Go out there and take it from them and yell out loud "these are the real death panels". Why are they being nice and polite?? Go for it. Jesus!!!
06/24/2017 at 01:41
The Republicans won't care about the protesting because they KNOW that when it's time to for re-election, the liberals will stay home just like they always have for the past 3 or 4 decades. I can't think of anything that frustrates me more.

It's NOT a health care bill and never was. It's ALWAYS been a tax cut for the rich on the backs of poor and working-poor Americans 😱💩🔥
06/24/2017 at 00:49
As a born and raised Democrat, I asked my mom when I was about 14 yrs old, what a republican was and I will never forget her explanation, "when republicans are in charge the rich get richer and the poor get poorer," I have seen it to be true my whole life. Republican held states statistically are the poorest and most under educated in our country. They also use more federal subsidy programs than democrat held states.
06/24/2017 at 00:33
Remember when the Republicans called Obamacare 'Death Panels"? I never heard about any, but their plan is horrible and SHOULD scare their supporters.

"Kinaia, who soured on Trump before the arrests, doesn’t think Trump understood that the the travel ban deal would affect Christians." what I don't think many understand is that many evangelicals do not consider Catholics to be Christians, and Trump and the neo-nazi alt-right just sees brown.

This is the saddest fact about today's politics: people have decided to either invent (lie) their own facts or discredit experts when they have no expertise themselves. In other words dumb and dumber. And they complimented him on how smart he is?
I feel dizzy.
This guy is not smart. How can anybody think he is anything but a very low level functioning human. He reminds me of my little sister who when my dad came home and found all of the kids in the Hershey's chocolate and told them to put it away, my little sister said "Daddy, I didn't get into it." She had chocolate all around her mouth. She got in trouble, not for being in the chocolate, but for lying about it. Trump needs a lesson in the consequences of lying.

Good chart - sure it's accurate. I have to ask why you chose to put the Democrats in red and Republicans in blue - seems odd and probably will confuse the right wingers when they look at it.

This entire mess is happening because millions of seemingly normal, intelligent people decided a reality TV star con-man was a better choice than a "Clinton." They literally voted in a clown because of their irrational hatred of the name "Clinton." Thanks a lot.
BTW, this is coming from a huge Bernie supporter who believes the DNC is corrupt to the bone. But I was able to look past that because...TRUMP. That was plenty of motivation for me to vote for the name "Clinton."

I like suggestion that Dems immediately focus on fixing the areas of the ACA that need fixing and send this out to the public with one voice. The People just want our government to work for us--right now all legislative energy is wasted on political reaction and attack.

The best way is to avoid being a rapist. I felt bad for him, getting in all this trouble at his age, but this leads me to believe he is more than guilty of the charges that have been brought against him.
