The grass will probably ruin the design underneath I'm sure, but that car is never gonna race again anyway. It's destined to be looked at and remembered as it sits from now on. Ford or SHR will probably keep it on display on their own after Daytona is done with it
today at 04:05
All Daytona 500 winners are confiscated and will not be returned until the next season... The car will be in the Daytona Museum until then but it would definitely not be surprising that you will see this car again for another restrictor plate race unless a drastic rules change occurs..

It's like every car that's won the Le Mans 24 Hours. Never wash or repair it, keep it as is because it's now a part of history. Why I love motorsport so much

NASCAR you did a great job
I am proud to be a NASCAR fan. Will be the rest of my life
That was the best 500. Looking foward to the rest of the year. Gonna be good racing and battles thru the year.

I was in turn 1 & took my daughter for her 1st Daytona race. We both enjoyed the race & new rules are good for the sport. You can't judge the sport on Daytona, it's a different race. After the West Coast swing, we'll see how it looks.
I've been a NASCAR fan for more years than I would like to remember. The new stage rule is stupid in my opinion racing is supposed to be green flag to checkered flag. The garage rule was long over due. I know no one cares but NASCAR has lost one of its biggest fans.

Collected all the main character die-casts for the first movie; NOT going to do it again (maybe one or two...). It was a nightmare going to certain stores to buy certain cars. No regrets with my collection, but still a pain getting them.

I can tell you the track designs. There is a Phoenix track in there. There is of course one that mirrors Daytona and Bristol.
I'm glad the storytellers went back to the beginning almost. Brought it back to the Piston Cup Circuit compared to Cars 2.
So stupid you can tell he's going to win the champion chip or the final race already if people haven't figured out the story line by now wow

I didn't think i'd like the segments but i was wrong. Very good race. Not a fan of the 5 minute rule, try doing that at Talladega you wont have any cars left. I was more impressed with the renovations daytona made. Every NASCAR fan should check it out.
The absolute best thing about this race was how bright the future is. Elliott, Larson, Blaney, Logano all up there battling for the win. Things are definitely looking up.
What Kurt Busch had to do to win this race was exactly what he had been challenged with, patience and maturity......I have been a KB fan since 2002.....I couldn't be happier!!

NASCR isn't dying, the demographic landscape is just changing. No longer is it Old Southerners. Austin, TX saw a 111% increase.
Kurt ONLY won yesterday because all the Chevy's & Toyotas either wrecked OR ran outta fuel... He was pretty much last man standing at the end, the new format has really made the races attrition runs... Best part of the whole day was Jeff Gordon driving the pacecar... Ok so go ahead, let your insulting responses flow...

Not sure if all of you watching noticed that no unnecessary caution was thrown during this Daytona 500. Maybe the stage racing is a good thing after all cause Nascar won't feel the need for an unne cessary caution.

Here come the crybaby fans saying NASCAR is dying. They're not willing to see the facts. The ratings for the 2017 Daytona went up 7% since last years. Not to mention it was sold out at the gate.
The crybabies need to just stop watching. That race yesterday was the most fun racing I've seen from the cup series in years. The rules changes I think have made the sport fun again. Can't wait for Atlanta.
I liked the new format, just not the mandatory caution after each stage. No need to waste 7 laps under caution. Let the teams do whatever they need to in order to place themselves in a position to win each one.

I think SHR is going to be extremely competitive this season, if you have followed them in the off season, or the weeks leading up to Daytona, you will see a more collective "Team" approach, and the hours Tony has spent with these drivers, crew chiefs and crews, now with an owner ALL IN who has been in those exact same situations, look for a great season from SHR - Congrats Kurt -
yesterday at 20:45
I really don't understand the points now. Why are Kenseth and E. Jones tied at 1 point? Shouldn't Jones have 2 points and Kenseth have 1? Isn't it still 40 to first with bonus points, all the way down to 1 point to last?
The rules apply to everyone. So those that couldn't come back just couldn't avoid the damage to the cars. Everyone had an equal chance to win. I'm not a Kurt bush fan but he won fare and square. On to Atlanta.

After yesterday I can say for the first time in a log time I'm looking forward to the rest of the season. While I don't think all the new rules are perfect that was the most fun racing I've seen in a long time. People are gonna whine about all the wrecks like they have never seen a caution filled Daytona 500 even though there has been plenty of them.
Racing should be about winning the whole race not just parts of it
same way with the championship
The best car all year long should be your champion not the best car sometimes
Wake up Nascar you have ruined a once wonderful sport and spit in the face of the wonderful drivers who made it great
yesterday at 19:40
The same people gripping about all the wrecks are the same ones gripping about a race with no wrecks and they say it was a boring race due to the lack of wrecks
How do you ever please a person with that sort of mentality is my question lol

I miss, 80's and 90's NASCAR racing!! Great coverage on ESPN, great races, drivers had personality. It still had traditions...Earnhardt died, and so did the sport...Gordon and Stewart tried to keep it going, but bland drivers (48), the chase, and constant rule tweeks, just ruined the sport. If this is want the new fans want, that's great, but know....it used to be soooo much more exciting!
They'll let anyone sponsor anything just to make a buck. Restart zone, last lap, and pretty soon, the stages of this new BS format.

Finally found a way to make the drivers race for 500 miles, no more riding to the end and hoping for a good points day. As an old school fan I love it and so would many of those old drivers watching from above. Can you imagine how Dale or Neil would have felt about the opportunity to win three races in one afternoon ?

Congrats to Kurt. However, the format is terrible. You are taking away 10 to 12 laps of racing on this track but double that on shorter tracks. We pay too much to watch them run under yellow when there is not an accident.
Stage racing sucks! It's like the All Star race all year. So when the all star race comes around I guess they drive backwards?
So if I show up for the last 80 laps next year can I get a discounted ticket? The new format is bs. What a disappointment! I traveled 1500 miles and paid $200.00 to see a handicap race. It won't happen again. What's next participation ribbons for everyone? Great job Kurt! I won't take anything away from you or your team. You are for real and you did win a real championship when NASCAR was real racing!

Thanks Nascar for screwing up the 500. It was the most absurd racing format that I have ever seen. Can't wait to see what you all will f#ck up with the next race
yesterday at 03:38
NASCAR you have got to be kidding me. What is the deal with the stages? Run 30 laps and take a break to let everyone catch back up award points for each segment? Pffft why not just hand out participation trophys. You guys screwed this completely up. Can't believe I paid $200 to see this crap.

Only good thing Monster has brought to NASCAR is the Monster Girls ! ! ! ! Bout time we had a throwback to the old trophy girls who didnt cover up wearing firesuits ! ! ! !

I do not understand the purpose of the so-called models standing behind the drivers when they are interview. There is no other sport where a sponsor has a pointless person to stand behind whoever is being interviewed. I very rarely watch victory lane because I find these women irritating.

Good race NASCAR don't listen to all the people always say they're done but can't stop watch because they're secretly addicted.

Can't wait to see what this format does off a plate track, made this race amazing, and the damaged car rule is awesome, no bs debris cautions!!
