Happy St. Patrick’s Day to our friends in Ireland and all those celebrating across the state today.
In 2016, Georgia’s film industry generated an economic impact of $7 billion and was responsible for more than 85,300 jobs, making our state the third busiest film and television production center in the U.S. By maintaining strong public-private partnerships, we are working to ensure that the film industry remains and grows in Georgia for years to come.
Georgia’s law enforcement bravely face challenges each day to protect their fellow citizens and the freedoms we enjoy. On Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police Day, we recognized them for their valor in service and the many sacrifices they make to better their communities.
Today I announced that Luxottica Group, a leading eyewear designer, manufacturer and distributor, will create 1,000 jobs in Henry County by the end of 2017. Georgia has had great success in attracting manufacturing and distribution operations to our state, and I am confident that our extensive distribution resources will support Luxottica’s continued growth.
