As depressing as it is, it's sad that the reality of being concerned with our issues on Earth first rather than space exploration is sounding more and more sensible. If only humans weren't so innately difficult sometimes!

Trump’s Plan to Eliminate NASA Climate Research Is Ill-Informed and Dangerous

Well of course something like this was bound to happen when a democracy has a lazy and malinformed electorate (i am speaking in a general sense here. I realize that we do have some informed, thoughtful voters). We have elected a man-child and now the consequences of our arrogant stupidity are going to descend on us with a fury few of us can correctly predict. Trump has told us many times that he is unpreditable. I fear the worst.
Sam Kirk Relle
Trump has stated no such thing at all. Never even mentioned NASA. So quick to pick up anything to bash at him with. I have seen him talk about fixing the steel industry , bringing America to the forefront of innovation , breaking from the fouled trans Pacific trade agreement , reforming childcare , and unity. Not some outlandish bullshit someone put together on the internet.
Not a Trump supporter, but when I read this and strip away all the Trump hate, I read that NASA funding may be redirected from earth science to deeper exploration. Is this such a terrible thing? Privately funded research can monitor earth science in a way that the same private funding wouldn't be capable of exploring the solar system. Let NASA focus on space. There are other organizations that can monitor the earth.

Well, since we keep paying the Russians for rides NASA better get their launch gear in gear before some politician decides it's a waste of possible champaign funds. :-(
Maybe I'm missing something. Why wouldn't NASA still be around in 30 years? Well the government could f it up. There's that. Oh, too late, they already have. I just assumed NASA was pretty sure they were going to be around in some form as long as we're sending men and/or equipment into space. Not sure why this is news.
Nasa needs clear goals. Like the first moon mission, put a person on the moon before the end of this decade, destination and timeline now lets do it. Saying we want to goto mars in the next 20-30 years maybe if we can....isn't motivating anyone.

Only quote that matters:
Well, before we even get started, keep this in mind: Astrology isn’t science; it’s nonsense. It’s been tested ten ways to Sunday and every time it fails. Even astrologers have come up with tests for it, and it’s failed those. Astrology doesn’t work.
Short Version - NASA didn't change your astrological sign. Earth's rotational wobble did. NASA just told you about it because Earth didn't have the decency to.
Also, Astrology is bullshit.
Well they better change it back before my 2nd date with Cheryl, because it's ruined our compatability 😈
I hope NASA realize the grief they are causing between couples all over the world.
Its an outrage NASA, fix it now you bastards...
"People are buzzing about a possible alien signal from a nearby star that was picked up by a Russian radio telescope.
Yeah, about that... not so much."

good thing, too. otherwise they'd be sending rapists, drug dealers, and some – i assume – would be good aliens.
There is a signal... but i think media and social media have turned it into Aliens.... would wait on the research and read up on it and then form no conclusions what so ever...
Carl Sagan would've been a little more open, while also critical. Reminds me of what he said about checking for intelligent life in a pale blue dot.

Michael Dorn should have played more diverse roles....and maybe replaced Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon 6.
No but seriously, he was a way better Kingon than Christopher Lloyed.
Favorite Worf line "I find human women too.....fragile". I was a Worf fan ever after.
I love his voice! So perfect for the role he played on Castle.

I used to watch police shows with my detective boyfriend .. and he was always saying 'they wouldn't do that' and shaking his head in disgust! I guess it's the same with all professions ... the people who make the movies and TV shows don't do their homework!

Movies are movies & I easily suspend disbelief. However, I do get that look when someone mentions the moon landing being fake or that flat earth revival. I just want to drown them in a sink of dirty dishwater.
lol Tyson must never have enjoyed any scientific movie.
He even found blunders in Interstellar, that was made after loads of homework.
