I'm an Islanders, so I have no horse in this race. I've always admired PK's skills on the ice, and his great deeds off the ice. If anybody deserves to hoist the cup above their head, it's PK.
05/23/2017 at 14:46
I'm so sad PK couldn't go to the cup final with Montreal. But we all know Bettman will never let a Canadian team lift the cup ever again so I'm happy for PK.
05/23/2017 at 15:17
PK is a special player and a special man! His enthusiasm for hockey is contagious and makes his team and teammates better! I would love to see him take the Stanley Cup home to Montreal to the Hospital for Children and then bring it home to Toronto where it belongs!

Call it heart, call it whatever you will.
But when you see guys like Sissons and Jarnkrok taking care of business against a line of Getzlaf, Perry and Kesler.
You know we deserved it more.
05/23/2017 at 13:43
How about Sissions, no Fisher, no Johansson and Colton Sissions has the game of his life when we needed it most, won't need 3 goals from ya every night but we will need that effort and determination!!! LETS GO PREDS!!!

I think it's great, it's bringing attention and new fans to the NHL...sucks for their regular guy though...i think our guy sings it better than any of those country stars but I might be biased lol
05/23/2017 at 12:09
As much as I love to watch and play hockey- the truth that hurts is that the NHL needs to diversify the market and taking advantage of being able to bring the "honky tonk" to the ice will bring a new market of viewers. It's call advertising and about making💰. So as there puck drops educate our new found fellow viewers
05/23/2017 at 12:31
Well when the Edmonton audience sang Oh Canada I got goosebumps. Best anthem ever. Yet that's beside the point. Welcome to the Stanley Cup Nashville looking forward to the final battle! Hopefully against my Penguins!

It's actually a tradition here in Sweden, not just for hockey, but all sports, that the winners wear gold helmets, hats or whatever. So it's not strange here.
05/23/2017 at 09:25
Great moment for Lundqvist, so happy he also got to win it with his brother.
05/23/2017 at 11:32
When Canada wins the worlds: HAHAHA YOU SUCK ITS OUR GAME!!!
When Canada loses: We sent our F team anyways and ew shootouts? Thats definitely just to give us a disadvantage. I mean give Canada the same conditions as Sweden.

Bad winners and bad losers
Btw Canada, Russia have won more than you. 😂

The '95 Devils were a way more impressive team! They tore through those playoffs. While the '94 Rags did not. Plus the Devils swept a highly favored Detroit Red Wings.
05/23/2017 at 07:19
Dunno but Mark Messier should be considered for dirtiest hit of all time at the end of game 6 Finals

Let's see...What was the last team to win back to back Stanley Cups? Oh yeah, The Red Wings. I admit bias and will go back to trying to look at this objectively.

Please for the love of God Pittsburgh or Ottawa, do the NHL a favor and shut up what has managed to become the worst fanbase in the league in a matter of only 2 months. Great team and organization, God awful fanbase.
05/23/2017 at 05:05
I hate Nashville. I hate your stupid goalie chant, and I don't like your country music. But goddammit, I am with you in the Final. Go get that cup.
05/23/2017 at 05:06
It's to bad, they really didn't deserve to win that series. I've watched hockey for awhile and I've never seen a team get so many things to go their way since Detroit in the past. They aren't a bad team but they had no business winning this series. So many lucky bounces I can't imagine it can keep up for forever.

So PK Subban was the reason Montreal lost, huh? Good for him, good for Nashville on going to their first Finals. Hope they get the Cup.

As a die hard Pens fan the Ducks team were the only team that would have left me sick to my stomach all summer if the won the cup so im glad they are out, obviously I will want the pens to win it all though. Will be a good final either way no matter who wins the east. A feel good story for all 3 remaining teams.

PK subban must be laughing at the canadiens for letting him go... in one season he has gone more far than before ... SUCK IT DUCKS. without bad refereeing u guys would have been gone earlier
05/23/2017 at 03:03
The Ducks being dirty at the end made this so much sweeter. Thank God Kesler, Perry, Ritchie are gone. The Ducks should look at trading some of their guys because they clearly cannot get over the hump with the current group.

I know this is a big win for the Preds. But don't let it distract from you the fact that Globo Gym blew a 4-1 man-advantage to Average Joe's in the dodgeball world championships.

Once again multiple lack of calls by the officials on both teams I think it's time that the NHL teams start firing slap shots at the referees just maybe after that happens they will start calling the games according to the rulebook
05/23/2017 at 01:57
Perry slashes and breaks the defender's stick. It prevents the defender from disrupting the centering pass for the goal. Amazing what he gets away with...
05/23/2017 at 02:40
Preds look like they are out of gas. Should be other way around. As much as I love Rinne he needs to be like Quick and chop the fn legs from under Perry and Kessler when they get in his cease! Go Preds!

I've noticed preds fans are pretty mellow out of many. Their team is respectable, not dirty. They're just a classy team. I'm hoping they go all the way, They're the only ones left who seem to have some modesty.

Fans always argue about how the Gretzkys, Orrs, or Lemieuxes would do in todays NHL. I would reverse that and have today's stars play an old fashion game with wooden sticks, leather skates and the pads the size they used in the 80's - including the goalies. Could be a fun all-star game event.

It took this team to end the Islander dynasty and they started their own after being in the league for only 5 seasons. Undeniably top 5.
Tracy Ellen Kubek
Only a team that was better than the Islanders could end the Islanders' dynasty, and that was the Oilers. Only a team so far and away better than the rest could cause the NHL to rewrite the rules to try to even things out.

I'm not a Wings fan. I used to hate them at some point (cheered for the Avs in the late 90s). But in my humble opinion, this guy is the best defenseman of all time. Good in everything. In and Off the ice.

Make sure you guys fine Getzlaf for "insensitive comments", but allow a headshot elbow in the final moments of a blowout game from Wingels on Wilson....great job keeping the priorities straight!

Suck it up. Look how many players the Pens are missing. I'm not seeing any articles about that. Hell they're not even complaining about a blatant headshot going unpunished by the league, yet again.

The Isles dynasty team(s) had no weaknesses and could win in any manner their opponents wanted to play. They could skate, they could grind, they had a great goaltender, they had an all-time great superstar in Mike Bossy and they were well coached.
You can make excuses about the refs and offsides and whatnot to argue that the islanders dynasty wasn't that great. But in reality no matter what anyone says you can't deny that it takes insane talent and greatness to win 4 straight cups.

There was never a,better team. 4 cups in a row, the names retired, Mike bossy!. And then 19 consecutive playoff victories that will not only stand forever, but no team will ever come close

Not counting them out yet and no fellow Pens fan should either. Clue up, they made it this far for a reason. It'll take a perfect road game to advance.
How about the NHL turning a blind eye to another elbow cheap shot to the head in the playoffs? So the status quo for the NHL. It's "playoff hockey" where you can basically get away with murder and the NHL could careless. I hate lawyers, but it's time for someone to call the league out on this garbage.
If the penguins show up at least, it'll be a good game. If the penguins play their game, they'll move on. If they get cocky and lazy, there will be a game 7. Only the pens can beat the pens. Boucher seems to understand that they need to play their best and hope the pens make a mistake for them to have a chance.
