Realistically, the craziest team to win and the most memorable story would be Edmonton. Go from a losing team with young promising talent but no direction or depth, to the very next year a top caliber contender guided by a young star player who serves as team leader and point leader of NHL. I'm an Avs fan btw, so idc. But you couldn't write it better than that. Btw, I have a feeling Nashville might do it this year. Never know
today at 14:50
Obviously I'd like the Pens to repeat. But if they don't, I'm fine with any of the remaining teams winning because they are all deserving.
Well I've put the caps to make it all in my bracket for years now so let's make it happen

Blues getting no love from anyone. It's okay we play better with no pressure! blues in 6. This is a real playoff team not that half assed Hawks team y'all played.
So glad we don't have to deal with Blackhawk bandwagon fans anymore. It seems blues fans actually understand hockey. That being said not all Blackhawk fans are terrible, just most of them.
As a diehard Blues fan this will be the toughest series we will have to face in any round. Who ever wins this round goes to the cup. I think this will be a 7 game series and would like to see my Blues come out on top but would not be upset if Nashville wins.

He played for my local ECHL team. Good kid. Plays down his celebrity status of his parents. I can't blame him doing that.

Played with him on El Segundo Regents before they were Jr Kings. Rachel Hunters appearances were very distracting for a team of 13 year old boys.

Remover seeing Rachel Hunter at a tourney in Phoenix when the boys were 13. It wasn't just the kids that were distracted...

As the league shouldn't be overly concerned with Crosby vs Ovi. But should focus more on Penguins vs Capitols. And maybe include a little coverage of the other series too. I know it'll be painful for them to do.
Sidney is concerned about the cup. Ovi is just concerned his team will keep playing and he will miss a chance to get a medal in the World championships. After all its medals that matter to him not stupid cups ;)

One is a complete player who has won Stanley Cups. World Championships and Olympic Golds. The other is a one dimensional player with a cannon of a shot who doesn't play Defense .

Oilers fans were troll-fest and class-less (with the exception of a few). Hope Ducks smash them and put them back where they belong (not in the playoffs, just like the Sharks lol)

Everyone counting ottawa out like the regular season and round 1... Thats fine. Sens are also 4 very good lines deep. They have the better goalie we have the better superstar. Will be close but i think the sens will come out on top. Sens in 6
today at 02:09
They have no one who can match Karlsson though, Ottawa is a better team overall than Montreal, they will be harder to beat.
Rangers fans, you'll be eating your words! Sens will show you how mental toughness and heart can win a series. Believe me, you're in for a shock! This team is built for playoff hockey

Huge Simmonds fan, but I don't think sports in general should give out awards (i.e. make it competitive) for athletes who contribute back to their communities--acknowledgement itself is its own reward.
Are they even going to announce the Hart finalists? Everyone knows its a 2 man race between Crosby and Mcdavid, no point in even having a 3rd person.

So many saying capitals. The caps struggled against a non playoff experienced team. They will now face the cup champ, which is also the team that choked out the caps so many times. Lmao

Good lord. If 9 of 21 "experts" predicted the Blackhawks to win the cup and now those same experts are predicting the Preds to beat St. Louis then I don't want to hear these experts' opinion.

I'm a hawks fan and watching Nashville absolutely dominate my team was something I wouldn't have thought would ever happen. Nashville has a tough team and are hungry for that cup. I feel sorry for any team playing them.

It says ducks-sharks...you're kidding right? The oilers get NO love
yesterday at 19:13
Ducks-Sharks: Forward Leon Draisaitl, 21, the No. 3 pick of the 2014 NHL Draft, was a game-changer for the Edmonton Oilers in their six-game victory against the San Jose Sharks in the first round. As staff writer Tim Campbell notes, Draisaitl had two key assists in the Oilers' come-from-behind 4-3 overtime win in Game 5, then got Edmonton off and running with the first goal a series-clinching 3-1 victory in Game 6.

Not to remove anything to the players of those era but....the goalie almost look like he is not trying XD

10-7 game...man the goalies had the disadvantage before. Even with the new changes the equipment was so much smaller. Look at Mike Vernon in 89...I know he's small but he looks like a little kid out there. Mario sure was dominant though wow.
Remember that time when the lowly islanders came back from down 3-1 to beat the pens Lemieux and jagr . I think in 93. Good times.

Well for all the complainers here , Draisaitl didn't get suspended so live with it , I am glad as a German I am very happy that he is such an impact player in the best hockey league there is. I am cheering you and the Oilers on from Denver Colorado
yesterday at 17:55
He only affected the series after spearing that daylights out of Tierney. Never should have had an impact. Should've been suspended for the games he did anything
yesterday at 16:02
Lack of playoff experience is such a cop out. The only time it matters is when people are trying to think of an excuse for why players aren't performing as well as they do in the regular season. As if that hasn't got anything to do with the Refs being more lenient and teams just playing better as there's more on the line.

There's a lot of overtime because of the playoffs format. Team are evenly matched in the first round but then it goes downhill from there. Expect less and less overtime in the rounds to come.
I think that most teams are equipped with enough talent to beat any other team if they are firing on all cylinders, or are playing at their peak performance, at the right time.

Caps, please slay Bettman's pet dragon!
I'm intrigued by the Blues-Preds matchup. Ducks-Oilers will be fun. Rangers-Sens will easily end in 7 games.
The NHL only cares about pens caps series. The others series will not matter. There will be no other storyline. They will gloss over the other games quickly to focus on ovechkin and crysob...no other players will exist but them. Pierre Mcguire is going to lose his freaking mind. LGR!!!

Fix your playoff system, NHL. It's disgraceful.
You have 3 of the top 4 teams in the NHL Standings playing each other in the first two rounds (Columbus, Pittsburgh, Washington). While at the same time Ottawa gets not one, BUT TWO home ice advantage series, when they should have been the #6 seed to begin with.
Not a fan of this dual 1, 2, 3 & Wild Card set up. Not a fan at all...

Go Leafs go!!! Everyone knew you wouldn't win the series. But they didn't think you could hold the Caps to 5 games in OT!!!! You did amazing as we have like no players with playoff experience. You really showed us a promising future! And Kudos for a great season!
I would've been happy with exciting hockey from all the rookies and another top 10 pick but they delivered so much more. All of the Leafs played their hearts out and showed the League they're on the right path. 3 rookies with 60 points or more and 3 rookies in the top 5 in one year is nuts. The veteran guys are playing with purpose and Andersen was a monster in the series and showed he's the Leafs goalie of the future. I'm so excited for next year and congrats to Washington. Get the great 8 his cup!
This hurts to admit, but I'll say it anyways. As a Hab fan, the young Leafs gave a WAY BETTER SHOW than the Habs did. Ouch, my head, it hurts, imma go lay down for a minute.
