Good . Newark is a vibrant city full of rich culture and diversity, excellent higher education, great restaurants and shopping. Not too mention the creative arts section and historic businesses .. I love the city where my education and internships thrived and I look forward to its new developments.

If the allegations are true, then this man should not be wearing a police uniform. These types of actions are what causes police officers to get a bad rep.

Wow, how sad. Sounds like the town has been warned of his behavior and bear total responsibility of his future actions - that could have been prevented. It's not easy being a cop now a days and tougher when one of ur own thinks he is a Cowboy. Was going to say Chuck Connors but he was a stand-up good guy cowboy - just saying

To each their own. While the bunker itself is not overly important compared with something like Battery Potter, it would be nice if something could be done. FYI other states preserve their forts beautifully and keep them in great shape. Guess they have more resources or are better managed

Some delivery drivers will try to hide them, others don't care. I deliver in upper Sussex county so this really isn't a concern because most of the houses you can't see from the road anyway, but when I was in more populated areas like Boonton, East Hanover, Fairfield, Florham Park, Madison, etc, I always tried to leave them in places you couldn't really see if you were driving by.
12/02/2016 at 23:12
Yet the postal service is always leaving my packages outside of my garage and not bringing them up to the stoop and knocking on the door. Just the other day they left a package basically in my driveway in the rain uncovered with big black letters on the side "KITCHENAID STAND MIXER" 🙄🙄🙄🙄
yesterday at 12:25
I see all the blame on the package carriers but how about the real issue that people are just scumbags! You should be able to have a package left on YOUR PRIVATE PROPERTY & not have to worry about someone taking it!

My son just got seven stitches 2 weeks ago from the same thing. The locker vent. I never realized that they were that sharp. His forearm is scarred and they had to cut chunks out bc it was 1/2 inch deep. I wouldn't ever sue the school though and it cost me a 15$ copay to get stitches in and out. He's a boy and it's just one more scar with one more story to tell at my house. People are just sue happy.
12/02/2016 at 21:49
I wonder if the comments would be as rude and inconsiderate if the kid who lost a finger went to a school in princeton instead. The ignorance of people is disgusting.
12/02/2016 at 22:10
My son broke his finger at school a couple years back. Was kicked in the hand during gym by another student. I asked for the school to pay my out of pocket which was about $150. I would never have sued the school system because it's always us taxpayers who wind up footing the bill in the end.

Immoral and unfathomable. This is what I've been saying all along.
Our schools are failing. Not because of the teachers. Because the School Administrations grow. Specialized jobs are created for people. It becomes a ladder "up".
As a result, the budget gets blown on Administrations, while the teachers get blamed for the costs.
It's a misappropriation of funds and it should be illegal. There should be an efficiency audit done of each department.
This was a terrible article. No substance at all... If you read the head line you basically read the article. How about some back story on what the person did before retirement. Good, bad, or indifferent- some facts would be nice.

I could have collected my private industry pension and then after six months gone back to work for the same company as a contractor. It's not unusual. The money comes from different accounts, so it's no big deal. It may even be a cost savings.

Paving done this time of year (too cold) will result in a poor.. short lasting pave job that will probally not last a harsh winter and have be re-paved again. Concrete may produce a better result but needs to "set up" for a longer period of time than the weekend
12/02/2016 at 18:06
The article doesn't say it but another article stated they're replacing part of the over pass bridge by route 9 that article didn't mention anything about paving.
