Barnes Rd Fire Finley

Today Southern Border, Mid Murray and FRNSW crews responded to a grass fire cause by a hay bailer on Barnes Rd approx 3 km west of Finley. 15 trucks were in attendance including one from FRNSW and the FRNSW Duty Commander. The Brinawa Fire, burning in Carrowbrook, around 24km's north east of Singleton, has burnt through more than 840 hectares. There are currently two fires burning approximately 24km north-east of Singleton. These fires are burning to the north-east of Lake St Clair and are producing large amounts of smoke. Isolated properties are in the area. If you are in the area, monitor conditions and take advice from firefighters.

Update 12:20pm - Firefighters with assistance from aircraft have now contained this fire.

ADVICE: Tarago Road, Bungendore. Firefighters with the assistance of waterbombing aircraft have slowed the spread of fire and working to control it. Continue to take advice from firefighters if you are in the area.
